Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

KLG poachers

You show me someone who has been locked up in this state for not pay a FW fine. Hell the guy who was given the biggest fine in the state talked it down from 136gr down to 12 grand and made payments.

Yea and you show me an idiot who will keep breaking the F&G laws even more so after getting busted for poaching.

There out there, over the years I have known a few that just can not help themselves. I am sure everyone here knows one of those kind of guys that just have to break the law.

Do I feel they should be let go NO but when one gets involved and it back fires you never know what these guys will do. They don't care and have nothing to lose.

Dude, four post and all of them negative shit.
Bottom line is that concerned anglers who know the rule's in "Special Regs" areas, should drop a dime on these scumbags.

CASE CLOSED !!!!!!!!

Marky,

Are you a poacher? You must be!
1. You show up on a fly fishing forum and post nothing useful; just stupid comments like "mind your own business" as if if your defending poachers.

2. You have incredible insight into the mind of a poacher. Only someone who poaches could know such things.

There are precious few CO's out there.

Your sounding like a cop on TV, when they make an arrest on one of those TV shows. I want to help you, be honest LOL and they bang the guy, if he just kept his mouth shut. WCO's love to bust like anyone in law enforcment. It's there high otherwise they would be giving out alot more warnings.

My piont is policing isn't going to stop anything, if anything it's going to make people go deeper and take more. Sad but true. Your always going to have polecat outlaws and the more you go tattle tailing the more they are going to take. Like anything when a poacher has nothing to loose he feeds off it. Then you have you guys that are forced to bend the laws to keep up with the standards that many outdoors man place on them. Some of the big writters always seem to get caught since they need that notch for there next article. Does that mean that everyone is a polecat NO.

By encouraging law-abiding licensed anglers not to even bother reporting illegal hunting & fishing activity you're sounding a lot like a poacher to me.

Most of the posts I read about CO activity involve repeat offenders.

There are poachers and there are the ignorant. Some folks may not even know they need a license and others knowingly subvert the system at every opportunity for fun and profit. You will not fix the latter and should be careful ratting them out. I think you should do it but don't think you're going to change them. the ignorant might be fixable and surprised to learn that they can get in trouble for what they are doing.

Also keep in mind if you ever bend a law, there is someone out there passionately concerned about whatever law you're subverting. Parking, speeding, washing your hands before returning to the kitchen, underage drinking, copying CD's or DVD's from friends, recording ball game and sharing it, discussing an event without express written consent, borrowing someone's Windows or Office disk, taking your wife's pain pill, indulging in a bit of herbage, storing your prescriptions outside of the approved container, plotting to subvert the draft, plotting to snatch eagle feathers, etc etc etc etc etc. Some cares as much about that as we do about trout. How will you feel when you get turned for one of those? Just saying everything happens in degrees and is not all black and white.

This has to be the closest to a true GST thread on NEFF EVER!

Marky, don't sweat it.

The rest of you...

You need to untie that knot you have in your panties and take a chill pill.

I remember that phone call about the poacher. He had a stringer full of undersized fish caught on powerbait and basically said @#$% off to whoever told him that what he was doing was illegal. I called the DEP Hotline and was patched through a number of times to law enforcement. They assured me that someone would go there and investigate. I have no way of knowing if that occurred. The Division is spread way too thin and needs more CO's as others have pointed out. I had no problem calling law enforcement and have done it again since that incident. What was interesting to me were the variety of people who called me to report the incident. Of course there were fishermen but a number of hikers and cyclists also observed the behavior and took the time to call me and confront the offender. Here are folks who probably don't fish but care about the Gorge and KNOW THE REGULATIONS. That tells me that as fishermen we must be pretty stupid if we practice a sport and can't read signs. I don't give a damn about a person's reasons for poaching. They are simply rationalizations for bad behavior. My father was injured in a car accident a number of years ago by an uninsured driver so my tolerance for this crap is pretty low. Remember, we are supposed to be sportsmen and women with a set of ethics. I have been in court with these people and you should see how their tune changes when they are confronted by a prosecutor.

Sorry to have offended this wise group, no problem with the law ever and non poacher all the way around the boards.

I relate alot of this to a guy a knew that had a piece of property on the main stem of the Delaware. People tresspassed, littered the more he asked them to respect his property the more they abused it. He called the WCO's and all he got was grief.

Thats why people get shot .

Poaching can be risky, sometimes it causes your tires to go flat for unexplained reasons. I actually witnessed that one day on another river.

Justice by Salt Peter.

I can tell you a story of a certain 11 year old way back in the 70s that got shot at for trespassing on private property on his bike...:guns::D

Let's just say I think twice before going on another's land ever since!

12 gauge shells and rock salt. The best deterrent ever!

The flat tires I witnessed going flat was really freaky, first the right front went down, then the left front, then the left back and finally the right back. Like some kind of poaching curse or something. The best part was it was on a Sunday night at 10 PM on a holiday weekend in the middle of no place, really weird. Maybe the guy ate the fish for breakfast.

Poaching is very bad that we all can agree on, but destroying personal property and placing a human being in a possible life threatening situation is ok.

I am waiting for someone, anyone to tell me that this is acceptable.

Hey official NEFF Sh*t for Brains, I think the reference was to a poacher arriving back at there vehicle to find they've got multiple flat tires, yeah real life threatening.

Besdies, I'm sure if it was a "solid GST poster" you wouldn't care anyway.:looser:

Baby Ryan:

I see you have graduated from GST's own Bottle Rocket to RATO.

or better yet RAT-O

RATO; Rocket Assist Take-Off.

Now if we can only find his pacifier for him to suck on then RAT-O will be alright.

Well shooting at people with a 12 gauge and leaving folks stranded in the middle of nowhere could be life threatening. It sounds to me like they're all misbehaving badly.

Until the politicians and their enforcement agents follow as good a set of ethical and humane rules as I do, I will continue to have a problem with authority, the cops, and the law.

As I stated poachers have nothing to loose, they don't care. If they did they wouldn't be out poaching and such. These are they guys that have stainless steel balls and feel if it ain't bolted down they own it.

Then you have the high end guy, he's got tons of money and every toy in the world they have to catch and shoot every dam thing that comes down the pike.

Like letting the air out of someones tires, first off how do you know it's there ride, then you have them getting pissed off and popping, that becomes an issue where once they get a bead on the tattle tailer they will focus there time on you.

Maybe some remember the guy who called the WCO about a guy shooting deer. They went to so called poacher's house did a search and came up with nothing. He had everything in order. The supossed poacher then took a few fresh deer heads and turkey, hung the turkey in the callers shed and placed the heads out back. He called the WCO and the guy who claimed he caught a poacher got fined and lost his license for 5 years. That is what I am trying to convey here. That happened in pasiac county.

The guy who had the house on 191 out side of Hancock New York on the PA side. He built that huge house on the river. He called, popped tires..... til some guy put a gun to his head and then he moved. That is what I am trying to convey here.

Oooh, that's a real good one.:D

Hey Marky, poachers have nothing to lose? Not everywhere, they can lose their vehicles, guns, etc. in some states. And the captain and mates from the Big Mohawk could be losing tens of thousands of dollars for their recent fluke poaching. Every month I read the WCO updates on the PGC website and they are chock full of guys getting arrested, fined, etc. and most of these investigations and subsequent arrest are based on tips from concerned citizens. Of course you're going to have some that don't pan out or are maybe even false but those few aren't a good enough reason to just ignore the problem entirely. If you see it and tolerate it, that just makes you a slob angler/hunter yourself, and we need to get those people out of our ranks as well.

So Marky, what you are telling us, that we should live in fear if you turn in a Poacher.:finger:
If that were the case than, why would there be laws and special regs in the first place.
No ones saying that you should get in their face or start a brawl with them.
It's easy, just get the CO's cards when they are in a area that your fishing. or when you run into one. And if you happen to see the vehicle that they came in (the Poachers) take down their licence plate also
When you see illegal activaty happening, give them a call and 'Hopefully" they respond to the call and bust the scumbag.
If your gonna live in fear of these Douch Nozzles:puking-smiley: then they win and we all lose.

Biot:

Guess you haven't been to an airport in the past 8 years.

Anyway, not for nothing but this entire thread is absolutely ridiculous.

However, I don't care what you or anyone else says, I say the sky is white not blue.
