Anybody going to the 2011 NJ Fly fishing show in Somerset?

If your into fly fishing you should go. It is a great way to break cabin fever, buy that new "must have item" attend a seminar etc. If they were not a lot of fun then they would not have them every year. Nobody would come the crowds would be less and less each year. But that is not the case.

I will be set up next to the hot dog stand.

That's where I was last year. I tied next to the Clear Cure Goo table with George Maciag. I should be in the same spot this year. I'll drop by and say hello for sure.

I think it's safe to say that almost everyone on this site will be at the show at least one day. I'll be there all 3 "working" myself.

I'm not a fly tyer, although I pretend to be on occasion on this site.
I will, however, stop by to see you, Bruce. You sound like a good guy.

There are many qualifications.
The first is as follows...
(1) Must have attended the Somerset Fly Fishing Show.
Do I need to list the other qualifications?

i was thinking saturday but ive never been there so i dont know how crazy its going to be there.... i hate going to the rockland sportsman show and tripping over everyones feet..... im thinking probably friday but we'll see definatly would like to meet at the "NEFF TABLE" lol to meet some of you knuckle heads....

I'll be there Saturday & tying for the Catskills Fly Tyers Guild from 3:30 - close and tying one on after.

I,ll be there all 3 days at the WBA booth. Also stop by the FUDR booth and learn about what makes the system tick, and if so inclined, sign up for an annual membership. It will be mandatory next year if you fish the Upper D, you must belong.

I am a bit worried, that if I say "I'm Golden Beetle" at the show that I will, instead of getting discounts, be charged double.

FUDR hires high school kids from Hancock to "pay a visit" to out of state vehicles in fishing access sites if they don't have a "FUDR" sticker on the vehicle's window.
It's THAT kind of "mandatory"...

He's kidding... the kids don't get paid; they volunteer.
They only volunteer when they get to keep the spoils. When they get paid, they bring the stuff to FUDR to offer up in raffles and auctions to raise money for the cause. You can really pick up some good deals. I had a boat lined up a while back...

From reading these posts, it appears that attending this show is to the fly fisherman what making a pilgimage to mecca is for the arab, except there will be bathrooms at the fly fishing show.
