    If you're outside tonight...look up!!!!

Tonight between the hours of midnight and 0500 will be the height of the Perseid meteor shower.....somewhere in the range of 200 per hour could be seen weather permitting....I know it isn't fishing related, but it is pretty cool to watch!

    what am i?(with no pictures)

I was fishing the BFB on Monday, for a change! After a few unsuccessful drifts through the spot that I was fishing, I sat down to turn over a few rocks and light up my cigar, mojo be damned! I turned over the first rock and was shocked to see some large "nymphs"? swimming as fast as they could...

    What am I?

Hit the BFB for a few hours today....I spent more time in the car than fishing...started out by checking the temps at a few spots, and at the first one this landed on my shirt. Sounded like a carpenter bee when it landed. The tails were almost 1 1/4 inches long, longer than the body of the fly...

NYS Fishing...or should I say skunking!!!!

BHC and I got together and fished a few spots in NYS today....no fish for me or him while we were together....might be my bad mojo... but we did see a few nice bugs IMG_0107-1.jpg After watching a gargantuan midge hatch with nothing coming up to them we decided to try another spot. While...

    Henryville Special

After reading Andy B's offer to tie a few of these for the good Dr.Gonzo, I wanted to know what they looked like.....found them, and now I am wondering if you tied these without so much hackle behind the hook eye, could you fish them as a stone fly pattern....on the site I found it said they do...

    Fishing today

So after my volunteering this morning I got to fish the Musky, which I have never done before. The stones were a dancin on the water but up until the time I left no one was interested in them. I managed to hook and fight one very healthy rainbow, but lost him and the grhe that had been a very...

    Native in the snow!

Finally, after days of trying, dealing with weather, uncooperative schedules, and a 13 month old changing her napping, I was able to get out to Van Campen's Brook this morning! Parked at Millbrook Village and walked for about 30 minutes up stream. Started my day at this pool IMG_4114.jpg I...

    Expanding my home range

So I've cleared it with my wife...Friday is the day that I can get out for the first time this year. Was thinking about going to Van Campens Brook, but have never been there. Firstly, where is the best spot to access, and secondly, as I have been skunked every time I have gone this winter...

    BFB and people who litter!

So I am not a very regular poster here, probably consider myself more of a gleaner of information, some may like to call me a lurker, be that as it may, I am compelled to write this. So today I had had enough of sitting around wallowing in my own corpulence, and I decided to get out and fish a...

    Nymphs and Drys

So as I am fishing this afternoon, I was struck with a thought...and forgive my ignorance, but here it is. When I was watching flies of various sizes and colors coming off the water and nothing rising to them I wondered if the nymphs that those flies came from were close to the same color as...

Where does the bfb meet the delaware

So as luck would have it, I am off from work for possible the remainder of the week....rats! And today being such a nice day, I am thinking of fishing "outside my safety zone" meaning the bfb in the area from peters valley to near wallpack center. What kind of distance is involved in getting...

So I have a 9 foot 5 weight and i usually tie my own leaders. 15 or 20 pound mono to the fly line with nail knot, the 10 lb to the 15 with a surgeons knot, followed by 4 lb to the 10, and so on and so forth. My question, given my rod length.....IN MY BEST BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD VOICE....HE SAID...
