Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

the sad old dog with no friends
I was fishing the BFB on Monday, for a change! After a few unsuccessful drifts through the spot that I was fishing, I sat down to turn over a few rocks and light up my cigar, mojo be damned! I turned over the first rock and was shocked to see some large "nymphs"? swimming as fast as they could to get back to the safety of the underside of another rock. These "nymphs" were black, with a whitish stripe down the center of their backs, had three tails, with some "webbing" between them, and did I mention that they were fast? I have never seen anything move like that before. I had found a few spent shucks in a close proximity to where I saw all the original activity. I might add that they were all in less than 2 inches of water, and I did not see any in the deeper sections of where I was fishing. I apologize for the lack of pictures, my fishing camera doubles as my wife's diaper bag camera, and she wanted it on Monday. Soooooo what did I see?

Besides the iso nymph that was shown start thinking about fishing with size 6 & 8 Lead Wing Coachmen wet flies. A very deadly and successful pattern to use when Isonychia's are present. I wrote an artical for the guild on this fly a little while ago.
