I would like to address 2 points here in this post.
1. From Aaron's photo, he is wearing a drab green shirt which would help conceal himself when fishing. I would like to see him catch a monster trout wearing a white shirt next time
2. As far as the "groupies" issue, I hope to see some more of the RRTU tying groupies on June 12 and June 26 for our next tying nights. FYI Aaron will be there, so if any of the Aaron haters want to show up and discuss his angling techniques or just take a picture with him, I will buy you a cup of coffee.

Your first post is rediculous. Please try to do better with your next one.
It isn't opinion that Aaron didn't catch that fish 100% by himself. If he was to apply for a record, this fish would be disqualified. Check out the IGFA International Fly Fishing Rules. No one is allowed to give aid other than taking the leader for netting or gaffing purposes. In this case, he was clearly aided by having the fish scared off from going into cover. I wonder how many others have hooked that fish over the years and it got away because it ducked into cover and broke off? Were those lesser anglers....nope, arguably better because they played the fish fairly. What are the odds that fish is landed by AJ without the help? Pretty slim...it's much more likely this would be just another story of the one that got away.

Stop perpetuating lies! AJ didn't catch that fish on his own. He hooked it on his own. He had help playing it, and based on his own description a dozen pages back, probably stood no chance of landing it if it wasn't for the in-stream assistance. It's a great catch, but it's tainted. Get over it, stupid sycophant.

I can tell you that I don't know too many other anglers that can claim so many huge brown trout, regardless of where they came from or under what circumstances...and IGFA rules? Really? This was 2 buddies out fishing together when one of them hooks into a monster fish and the other buddy does his level best to help get it into the net as anyone here would do the exact same for their buddy. Nobody was out for an IGFA line class record and this fish wouldn't even be close if they were. And jumping into the water in front of the fish likely wouldn't violate those rules anymore than a boat captain maneuvering his boat to help the hooked-up angler apply max. pressure to keep the fight short so the angler could land the fish. IGFA doesn't allow that buddy to grab the rod and help play the fish, that's what they are concerned about.

I heard from my buddy's uncle that this fish was caught by a commerical trawler, then frozen, before Aaron "caught" it on the south branch. Apparently, Aaron later said the fish wasn't available for inspection because it was dragged off and eaten by racoons!
