I was up for a week on the upper east br.this past week, for bug week. the weather was perfect for fishing.Cloudy with few lite drizzles on and off most days. The fishing was fantastic! The olive and sulpher hatches thru the days were amazing! especially sunday and monday..very few drakes..good numbers of isos too. i spotted this fish feeding like a hungry italian..and tried every trick i knew for over 2 hrs before i got him to eat a size 16 bluewing olive nymph. i didnt realize how big he was till i landed him..i measured him at 24 1/2 inches..what a beast! And what makes it more interesting is i caught him again the following afternoon on the same fly but now a size 18. and on 6x..i felt privileged to catch and land such a fish..and twice! what a great week..caught many fish in the 18 to 20 inch range,,but thats how pitbull roles...but this fish was special and needed to be walked to the bank and take photos of.. And my personal best on that river..i was broke off by another brown that was dam close as big as this one but will never know...and i love that sage tcx rod! lite as a feather and can throw line further than most people go on vacation..
