Dennis,

At one point when looking at the site, when I moved my cursor over one of the thread titles, the contents of the post popped up in a window. It was great because you didn't have to open the post to get a peek at the contents.

Now, the site no longer does that -- I have to click on the entry in order to read what the post is about. I am not sure if this is because of the way my computer is set up, or if you changed that feature on your end.

But it was a super convenient feature and if there is a way to bring it back, please do so!
 
I noticed it was missing as well....it was a great feature!

Me too.... I have been lost without it.

I spent a little while looking into this after reading the initial post from CR. I have a good idea what happened but not quite sure how to fix it. This is going to take some troubleshooting which I will certainly do tonight. No promises on fixing it but I do promise to do my best.

Odd... it doesn't work for me from my work desk but it does work at home. Are the version numbers for the browsers identical? I'm thinking this is a browser issue whereas older version cannot display this properly.
 
Yes they are identical. I also just tried using a different browser - Firefox, and that did not work either.

It was working last night for me But is not working this morning. Same computer at work and home. Laptop on a docking station.

I can ask Our IT what it could be if you need another view.

Interesting... I haven't touched any settings. Very strange. I'll look into this.

Hollywood... I wouldn't bother unless of course they're familiar with web development and vBulletin hooks.

We have 4 web site's that are created by one of the Engineer's here. Will ask her what she thinks.

She like's doing other things. she write's like three lines of program then takes a break...

No way she's honest about that.. Her work is detailed and takes alot of my harassing when it doesn't work right:devious: usaully someone else around here pisses her off and then come's to me to tell me how dumb he is..

She's swamped right now going over data from testing our servers for 2 days trying to locate bugs and fixing and that are found. We have to maintain 2 way communication to all our control panels that operate boilers in NYC and around the country.

As long as we're talking about site features that aren't working as well as they could....

There might be something wrong with the timer/calender on the temporary ban feature.

I gave Opus--Mark H. Bowen (aka roffmember) a two day ban when he made a couple of personal attacks that included profanity (on the forum).

Yesterday, I looked in on roff & rofft via Google Groups...He was complaining about still being banned by us "liars".
I just checked the ban list, he's still on it with a reinstatement date of "08-05-2008, ~08:00 AM", ..... but it's the 9th...

I left it alone in case you wish to troubleshoot.

Yeah... I just read most of the thread on ROFF. Once the book comes out, we'll have our own chapter. Anyone care to give it a title?

A guy who calls himself Opus "Life is Life" (Anyone remember that song?) appears very upset that he's still banned. I couldn't care less if he came in under a different name but really, all he had to do was say, "Hey Dennis, what the F up is with the Ban" and I'm sure we could have taken care of that immediately.

As far as the ban lifting function... I don't think it's that important... If you want to "unban" the guys account, go right ahead, doesn't make a difference to me.

No problem, I just wanted to let you know, in case you wanted to fix it.

Frankly, I'm not looking forward to anything else he would want to post. I doubt if he'll ever contribute anything useful.

Since he made those abusive posts, very shortly after promising to abide by our "rules", he's not in a position to call anyone a liar.

At the time, I was tempted to make it a permanent ban, but considering what our regulars get away with, that seemed excessive. I'm content to leave him in limbo, and see if the timer ever catches up ....

I believe I have this issue all settled and it now works again! :)

ALso, the Chat program is working now.

well... I'm at a loss now because this was working a few hours ago and I didn't do a thing and now it's not working again. Sorry guys. The FlashChat should be working fine. I'm in there right now.

Don't worry about it DC, it seems the only use for it would be instant insulting anyway. While entertaining as that prospect might be, all of us would have to lower ourselves to the childish level of NEFF biggest insult.
