Quest for the Two Headed Trout
Its time for another fly swap...We need 12 participants...The theme will be Winter Dreams...We all have a favorite hatch or stream that we dream about during the off season.. Tie your favorite fly for that Dream.....


NEFF Winter Dreams Swap 2009 Guidelines
  • Tie 13 of your pattern (12 for swapping and one for our NEFF host Dennis)<o></o>
  • Sign-up deadline is Feb. 21..<o></o>
  • Flies are due in my mailbox on March 21st..<sup></sup><o></o>
  • Please adhere to the deadlines.<o></o>
  • As soon as the swap closes, I will PM each of you with my address.<o></o>
  • Please PM me or post as soon as you have sent your flies in the mail.<o></o>
  • Mailing your flies: Use a strong (plastic) box of adequate size. Make sure the box has your name & address on it. Include a self addressed envelope & postage stamps so that I can send the swapped flies back to you.<o></o>
  • Toe-tag all your flies: Your Board name & Name of pattern.<o></o>
  • I will photo and post the pictures of the individual flies & send them right out to you. <o></o>
  • Please post the recipe so that it can be added to the fly tying database.

I'm in too. Will post what I'll tie later or should I keep it a mystery? After all, I don't know what I'm tying until its done.:D
 
Count me in too. Just off the top of my head, i realize that I fish a lot of small stuff during the winter, so it might be something small. ...... Or a streamer. Ah, I'll figure it out later.
 
Anyone wishing to tie a few extras and donate to the RRTU chapter would be greatly appreciated.......At the meetings there is a portion where I become Col. Mike and I auction off whatever flies have been donated.....since we are a new chapter we are kinda low on funds and every little bit helps.....Thanks in advance Mike Rediger 197 N Lehigh ave. Cranford NJ 07016...............
 
If possible I would like to get in on this swap. I will be glad to tie up my go to cornuta emerger as that is my favorite hatch to fish on the system.

Heres a shot of a sulpur emerger that is very similar.. however on the cornuta I mix the wing color and do the body sparser.

Hi:

I have not particiated in a swap on this board in awhile. Please put me down for wet flies. I am just not sure which one. Will let you know my pattern in a day or two.

I'm In don't know what to tye just yet was checking out my dog Moe he's got some long black white and brown hair maybe a Moe hair streamer.:)

I'll tie an extra for RRTU. If anyone else wants to do the same we can ask Bkill to mail any extras to MCR (I'll pay the postage). But don't feel obligated and thanks in advance for anyone that does.

Dude... so much for putting on the pressure... thanks a lot!

I was thinking something along caddis pupa, glass beads and stuff - was at a little free sunday-over-lunch-workshop at my local fly shop in HR and got a bit inspired by what Hyrum Taylor (he's kinda a local tying celebrity) tied.
 
I decided on a very productive nymph. Since it is for the winter swap, snowshoe hare HAS to be used. It will be a snowshoe hare emerger. Since this little fly is such a quick tie, I would not feel right sending it in all alone. Therefore, I will also include a custom strike indicator/bobber/cdun.

It was nice to see the swap fill up so fast. :)

I managed to finnish up the flies last night and print the labels this morning. Tonight i should be able to pakage them up and pop them in the mail tomorrow am. I included a dozen or so Lehigh Valley standards with the swap flies to be forwarded to Mr. MCR.

19 days & ticking. I really just wanted to bump this thread. I just finished a swap on another forum. The streamer i'm for this one was created by the same guy as the last- Lew Oatman.

Here is what I sent in:
