New Years Fly Swap

Andy B

New member
How about a fly swap consisting of twelve tyers. Flies can be any pattern you choose (meaning wets', Dry's, Nymphs, Streamers, Emergers). First twelve tyers to sign up the swap closes and will be posted as full. Sign-up dead line is 1/1/2011. Flies due to my house no later than February 15, 2011. I will take pictures and post all the flies on line. When swap is full or the sign-up date is reached I will then provide my mailing address. If the swap is full that means each tyer will need to tye 11 flies of the pattern of there choice. When signing up please provide the pattern that you will tye. If not sure please inform me of the pattern you choose when you figure it out.

The term "rainbow warrior", sounds a little gay....maybe you should leave that one back home...in the closet......

Andy, I am in.

I will tie my Terry Sulphur Cripple.

PS

If any of the tyers in this swap wish to tie an extra fly or two that could be donated to Rahway River Trout Unlimited, I am sure Andy would be more than happy to pass them along.

Dude I have enough trouble tying my shoes, and at this point in my life between my job, kids, travel, hunting, fishing, nude photo shoots, I simply don't have time for a new hobby. I love the work you guys do, you are truly artists, maybe someday. Just don't think I could keep a straight face asking someone if they had any jungle cock though......

If I enter, I will be the worst fly tyer by far. That said...

I will be glad to enter.

I will tie a very basic fly. My best is an Elk Hair Caddis. It'll catch you brook trout on small streams if that's what you like to do.

That's one hell of a welcome to the fly swap.

Hi GB that laugh was for TT with his Jungle Cock comment. Wecome aboard and I am glad you joined the swap. Just an FYI, Joining swaps is a way that improves ones tying. It forces you to tye a few of the same pattern & you will find one little thing that makes tying the pattern easier. Lastly you will try your best because you want others to have a nice looking fly. You are not alone being a beginner. We all were in your position far as flies not looking right, coming out wrong, little frustration. But if you keep at it, you will get better and tying will become easier and faster.

Sincerely
Andy Brasko
