Antrim Lodge Update

NJpatbee

Can be found on NJ/NY/PA waters!
Speaking of the Catskills, I had mentioned in a previous post last Summer that the Antrim Lodge in Roscoe was scheduled to re-open in September 2010 and I was hoping for a long weekend to celebrate it and hit the small BWO's. Unfortunately, re-construction won't begin until September 2010, and it is expected to take 12-15 months.

I am looking forward with great anticipation. Hope after all their false starts and trials and tribulations that something good happens!

It would be good to see this reopen. For some reason, whenever I hear the word "Antrim" I think of the scene in Deliverance when the hillbilly tells the 4 canoeists that "this here river doesn't go to Aintree"

I'm old enough to remember the old place. It was great and the spirit will never
be duplicated. Anyway I've heard about this reconstruction too many times before.
And it shouldn't take 12 months to do it.

Hey Gary:

The Antrim Lodge has been under construction and pening opening for the last two years. That's all that has been talked about on other boards about two years back. Sure it might open, but when and where and lastly will it even come close to how it was back in the day. Now if you really want something to talk about, go and look what they did to the Reynolds house. Up until a year ago I love to stay there. Use to fish late in the evening followed by late at night through erly morning fly tying sessions, get some sleep for a few hours and start the whole process over. Now with the colors looking like the Sunoco gas station, I am no longer going to stay there. I just do not know what the new owners were thinking when they ruined this beautiful land mark and Hotel.

Yes, I saw it and almost ran off the road. It looks like a kids musuem or something.
I'll believe the Antrim construction when I hear the hammers. Wait I did see them start and start and.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
