Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

4th Annual NEFF WIZARD SLEEVE BASH

I assume you bought this reel in an underground "fly shop" in Chelsea?

Its all about feel. THrow the numbers out the window. It needs to balance in YOURS HANDS.

All cases are different, but all my ONE hand 7 and 8 wt rods I use the Galvan Torque T-8 or the NV in similar size. My two hand 7 and 8 weights I move up to the T-10.... For both line capacity (switch lines) and weight.

Also consider what you want to do. If youre goingt o SWING mostly with minimal high sticking, THEN go with a two hander. OBvsiouly two hander is made for chucking big bugs and shooting lines, but its also light enough to high stick for a day or so if you need to.

If you're planning nymphing Id highly recommend the 10' as you already picked out.

I know where you live so I have no problem dismembering your family members if I need to, but id be willing to send you my reels to test out before you pull the trigger.

Or just meet me on the SR you fuck.

I need to catch one first before attempting alternative methods. Found a pretty sweet deal for the sage (at least I think) at $175.

Now I need to find a reel to balance it out. Do you guys typically use larger reels as a counter-weight to the extra length?

jim solid rod choice. i should know ;)
drew is a great teacher. i toss that same 420gr scandi compact for winter presentations. lately ive been throwing a 450gr airflo skagit switch head so i can sling whole chickens. give it a try once you master the scandi. its a blast.

the line i was working last weekend was a basic 7/8 rio switch line which as you saw is pretty good at launching indicators a mile and mending from afar.

hope i didn't wear you out running around like a maniac.

lets do another trip soon

That hurt.

Ill be on the water tomorrow w/Andrew from tightlines breaking her in.

Wow, I like how you actually integrated the colors of the rainbow flag into the reel. It looks just fabulous. Two snaps in a circle.

Not my fault. I was unfortunate enough to have viewed Simms sock collection photos before they disappeared and as a result I became gay for a day.

Not only did he cost me a small fortune on that upgrade but now I'm gonna be getting hit on every time I fish the fucking thing.

I'll figure something out. Hopefully work will let up a little and I'll get a chance to get back up to the SR and fish for more than 3 hours. Next weekend if I'm lucky.

Was it a good day?

Speaking of fly line, I'm still waiting to get a more detailed story from Phil about how his fly line detached from his backing.

Yes it was a crappy knot I suppose...was a Albright but probably a wrap or two short. I hate doing any gear maintenance so this is payback

Hi guys,

Pulaski and Tug Hill are slated to get 2-3 feet Monday - Wedneday. Temps will climb above freeing Saturday through Thanksgiving. If you can manage the time, anytime Sunday on will be LIGHTS OUT.

Planning to head up Sunday-Tuesday.

Anyone interested?

Bead clinic will be free ;)

I'm gonna go back either this weekend or the next....but when I say weekend I mean drive up Saturday night, arrive sunday around 6, drive home Monday after dark.

WORD.

Im planning on the same plan of attack, however I may get there Monday. Either way, lets snag some chrome in the eye sockets together.

NICE WORK! Too bad its a Lamson though!

GALVAN or NAUTY FOR THE WIN!

SICK STICK THOUGH!

#CHROME

All garbage. Hatch reels are where it's at for mid priced reels.

Classy mother suckers use pre war reels. If you really want to be a "Spey" guy you better start buying Olson, Saracione, or Bogdan reels.
