NEFF - Final days or not?

I like Pete's idea for a basic forum with no bells and whistles that few if any use. Keep it simple.
 
There's alot of useful information in the archives here. Alot of noobs stumble onto this site searching for access points on the BK or KLG or whatever and end up learning alot perusing those threads...

I also think it's much more humane for me to embarrass macfly here, rather than on facebook where his children can bear witness to his fumbling whataboutisms.

I believe we've now migrated to the new server. That was fairly seamless. Some posts over the past few days may have been lost while switching over to the new host. I apologize for that.

Now let's get down to business here. It appears there is still a market for non-Facebook type of forums for at least 4 people in the world and all 4 of those people happen to be right here on NEFF. How exciting!

There's still a need to support dial up connections for those of you who are accessing this system from 2001. How cool is that!?!?

Do we update the software now? Maybe something to keep the place simple but yet appealing to the eye. I know most of you have very poor vision so this won't matter to you either way but for those who do have good vision (under 40 crowd) have at it!

One of you mentioned fly swaps and competitions... Fire it up! I'm not so that will happen right away since only a handful of you tie and 1/2 of the handful doesn't visit this place anymore. It's time to get those people back.

Donations... Look... I'd love for people to donate but, I really don't want to be put in the middle of two people who have donated and want me to delete posts because of a disagreement. Can we agree we're all adults here and just be nice or something like that? You can be nice while disagreeing, look at Mac and Lighten up... These two hate each other but look how tactful they go about showing it while on here! You'd almost think they're sleeping with each other.

Let's start off the new year with a bang! Let me know what you want to see. At least 2 people don't care for the chat board. I personally like it but, let's have your opinions.
 
I'm sure I could get Simms fired up again. I developed a couple good relationships with people on here. Rusty Spinner and I did some work together recently. I thank this forum for that.
 
All it would take would be another fishing trip with Beetle and Simms and the traffic would come rollin' back in.

Let me check my calendar....
 
How much for an add, may be McDonald's banner would be nice on this site....they do have small coffee.
 
Keep the site. It's meant too much over too long a period in my life to just walk away from. I might even start another boring thread about conservation if we all pledge to breath some life into NEFF. ns keep the chat feature. Funny stuff.
 
I've been on this site for the duration that it has been going. If monetary help is still needed to maintain it count me in.
 
Keep the chat function. Those that don't like it don't have to use it.

Simplify the board. Have a section for the North East, and then a section for the rest of the world/ country. Gear and fly swaps can be done in the general forum.

Less is more.
 
Don’t kill it, just fix it.

Not being able to access the site from a mobile device killed it for me. Not being able to finish trip reports due to picture posting issues got old real fast too.

less is more if you’re redesigning shit. I vote for killing the chat room too, the board would be more active without it.

You can close the chat box with the little thing by it and it will never be seen again...it is next to the time..a little arrow shuts it...great, now it isn't working..lol

Can you see if you can post a picture and do what you want now? Were you using Tapatalk?

Is anyone using tapatalk? If so, I'll update the tapatalk software tonight.

No, not just posting pictures.

When putting together a long multi page trip report I was getting shut out of posting any more pics after a certain number of pages or posts.

Is there limits to how many pics a thread can have? Can there not be?

Let me see if I can adjust that in the morning. Wish I knew this was an issue; thanks for letting me know.

Mac didn't post the photo of the chub at the end of the bent rod, that's all dead weight right there. Matter of fact, there was probably a car time he snagged and told the photographer to take a quick pic so he could use it as his avatar. After-all, who would ever know... But I'm onto him so....

Your avatar is a work of art. That’s how we know you didn’t tie it. As for the real you..well my guess is we couldn’t fit a picture of you in the small a screen. There is a size limit for a reason

Keep guessing Mac.....and yes, I tied that fly all by myself, I did have a great teacher though...
and DC, he couldn't post a picture of the chub, because he couldn't land it.....the net man took the picture.
 
i havent been posting. I use my Ipad mostly and when i go on i can see the posts but trying to reply takes me to some stupid facebook login or something and then blocks the page from loading. I vote for a Myspace page. I think its the up and coming form of social networking.

Does anyone miss the chatbox yet?

Unfortunately, the latest version of the chatbox does not work with the latest version of this software.
