This is an open forum. If you're looking for a site that caters to any of the 10 commandments, this is probably not the place for you. If you're looking to post pictures then have everyone praise you for holding up a 16" trout, go right ahead but you might have your balls busted for it. If you're looking for a site that has 24hr surveilance to weed out (7) filthy dirty disgusting words (as described by the late great George Carlin) shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cock sucker, mother fucker, tits and other hateful comments, this site is probably not for you.
So what exactly is NEFF? NEFF is a place with a lot of knowledgeable people who are always willing to share useful information to people new to the sport as well as people who have perfected the sport. Sometimes this comes with a cost and that cost might be that you'll have to have your balls busted every so often. If you can't handle that, than this site might not be for you. So if you're one of those conservative types who supports having someone (the government) moderate your life instead of taking control of your own life, you should probably leave now because your type will have very hurt feelings almost immediately.
Read the site with an open mind and make the best use you can out of it.
If you don't like something you see on the site, there's a chance you'll see much more stuff you don't like as time goes on. Don't bitch and moan to the moderators. We don't care to hear about how you were offended because someone hurt your feelings. If someone bothers you, you have a few choices. 1. Ignore them. 2. Send them a private message or 3. Create more drama and entertainment and reply to them in the forum. Don't bother us with your personal issues regarding the site.

People who post here have different and varied opinions. Many of them know what they are talking about, others don't. We'll leave it to you to decide who is which. Just try not to take the whole thing too seriously and don’t expect us to either. If you don't want to see critical comments, you should go away now.
DO NOT POST COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL. If you post something that is copyrighted without giving credit and/or a direct link to the material, it will be removed.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT to delete messages and/or threads as well as photos for any reason or no reason and without explanation. We typically don't delete messages. Instead, they're moved to an OPT-IN forum which you must request access to but if we wanted to delete a message for the hell of deleting a message, that's our option.
DO NOT contact the admin and ask to have your pictures, posts, threads, etc removed. FORGET IT. Of course if you contact us and tell us that you're going to make a fortune off of one of the pictures you uploaded here but in order to do so it has to be removed from the site, we'll be happy to help you. Other than that, your request will be ignored.
Photography, Stories, & Posts... Consider this... You submit an article or photo to your favortie newspaper or magazine. The newspaper or magazine then prints your article or photo. Once that article or photo hits the newsstands, that's it, there's no taking it back or editing or deleting. This system is somewhat identicle to a magazine or a newspaper, but we do realize that mistakes are often made so, this system is configured to give you a reasonable amount of time (a few hours) to fix your mistakes or add to a post. Sometimes after reading something that we've posted, we realize that we forgot a thing or two and maybe had some typo's that need to be fixed. That's what the edit button is for. It's frowned upon to be part of a conversation then figure you'll drop out of that conversation by deleting all of your messages. It's not fair to other users in the thread and it's not fair to the readers. If we notice that you continually use the edit button to get out of making yourself look like a fool, your edit feature will be revoked indefinetely.
If you've ever given something to somebody then demanded that person give it back, don't submit threads or photo's to this site. We will not play the 'indian giver' game with you. Once it's here, it's here to stay.
Your photo's/photography belong to you however, once posted, they will not be removed. Your photo's may be modified and used with other photo's. Some of the users of this site like to joke around with pictures. If you can't take a joke, don't post your photo's.
On that note, you MAY NOT use ANY of the photo's or texts within this site to profit from. You May use the photo's and texts within this site if you have WRITTEN CONSENT from NEFFor North Eastern Fly Fishing or njflyfishing.com or neflyfishing.net, and the photographer. Some of the people posting photo's on this site work hard to make their photo's enjoyable for you. They would not appreciate it if you made money from their photo's.
Take the photo's and use them for your wallpapers if you like, or even print them out for your photo album - This is not a problem. They are here for your enjoyment.
DON'T ask to have your account removed. It's not going to happen. Don't waste our time asking.

For Sale posts for fishing accessories (Rods / reels / lines / flies...etc...) are acceptable within reason and by PRIVATE SELLERS ONLY.
DO NOT bombard our front page with hundreds of items you have for sale. Place all items in 1 post and post it. If people want your stuff, they'll contact you for it. If they don't want it, they won't contact you.
SIGNATURE LINKS: If you are a contributing member of the site either by posting useful topics or making monitary contributions, you're more than welcome to keep a link to your business in your signature. Of course we would love to have a linkback to this site on your site. If you're going to put a link in your signature, please post a link to us on your website. It's very much appreciated.
SHOP OWNERS / GUIDES / WEBSITE ENTREPRENEURS - While we love your participation with the site, please note that the For Sale forum is for Private Sellers. It's really unfair for any business owner to capitalize on the hard work I put into this site without sharing any of the profit you make through the use of this site with me. Of course, if you contact me, we might be able to work out a monetary figure to help promote your business. NO ADVERTISEMENTS in your Avatars or SIGNATURES unless you have permission.
We also have an online store (North Eastern Fly Fishing Store). This can be setup for multiple vendors. If you want to host your own online store here, you're more than welcome to for a reasonable fee. This site generates more traffic than the NJ Parkway during rush hour. You will sell items here.
GUIDES - You may sell your new or used items as long as you disclose within the ad all pertinent information. For example... If you're selling something that was purchased via a guide purchasing program, you must discolose the type of warrantee the product comes with and must note any potential snags a purchaser may run into, should something unfortunate happen. If a customer asks you about the warrantee, "I don't know" is not an answer. Call the vendor yourself and find out if your warrantee is transferable and if you're within the transfer time frame.
This is the for sale section (http://www.njflyfishing.com/vBulletin/classifieds.php) and this will be the ONLY acceptable way to post your items. For Sale items posted in the forums will be removed immediately. Posting pictures of your items will get you more views and a faster sale.
Nit Picking Lawyer types. We have enough lawyers in New Jersey and we don't want to hear from you about whatever you don't like. We do claim OUR Constitutional First Amendment rights just like the New York Times, Washington Post or Consumer Reports. As editors and reporters for njflyfishing.com/neflyfishing.net or NEFF, we can say that product "XYZ" in our opinion is a piece of junk. If some underage kid submits a false birthdate during registration and then is offended by something on this Message Board, it's not our problem - Poor parenting. For the record, our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, takes precedence, supercedes and controls these Guidelines. If we feel we need to update this document, we may do so at our discression. It's your responsibility to read it if we let you know a change was made.
