i hunt for fly materials
anyone fish cedar creek in allentown?
Sure, small limestoner with nice clear water and wild browns. The wild browns get real spooky most of the time. It is approved trout water below Lake Muhlenberg.
pa flyfisher, gotta be a little more specific. Little CedarCreek flows in right at the intersection of broadway and cedar crest blvd. The canal I'm talking about is right at haines mill road 100 feet from the creek and a small little ditch creek does flow out of it into Cedar. You can't miss the canal,if you are stading on the bridge on Haines mill looking downstream on cedar, the canal is on our left 100 feet from the creek. You drive over it if you drive on Haines mill road from Broadway. Be forewarned, the canal upstream of haines mill is actually a part of Doreny Park Lake which you can'tfish. You can fish cedar all the way up to the dam at Dorney park lake.
And your story of him cutting off a 27 inch fish is nothing new, I've heard he has done it before. At that point, I would be defending my property and he'd be swimming, it takes every ounce of control not to dunk him. But was it native??? I doubt it, although I have seen the native browns start feeding on his pellets, but really, the few 10 pound browns that are left are all holdovers from 3 ears ago.

You have 28 posts... You should have no problem posting attachments. If you're still having a problem, please send me an email with a few of them so I can take a look. It's possible the file sizes are too big.If I'm ever allowed to post attachments, I would gladly post pics of these enormous fish for everyone to drool over, but none-theless, I simply am not allowed and don't know why. If a moderator out there would kindly allow it, I could certainly be a lot more useful and put out some posts on the PA board. Thanx.

Finally, after posting this on 4 different forums, someone who has set the record book straight and is fighting for these fish. Now I know I have advertised this creek correctly, and I apologize if any of my facts were off.
Didn't realize it was 2001, I just remember when Mr. Allen use to stock browns and even brooks back in 2003 and 2004 when for the first time I told myself there was no need to run to Oak Orchard to chase down a 12 pound brown, that was my basis for saying 4 years ago. I know he has the permits, but this was a a Class A water, still holds a lot of wild trout from that first bend pool all the way down to Lk Muhlenburg, plus a lot of natives up at the Dorney park dam. Mr Allen's trout have killed everything in between and that's just not right. If he stops stocking it, there will still be year round recreation. The native browns will take over this section again and I know Cedar can produce 18 inch native browns. No need to feed them pellets.
And what rules are we talking about here? This is a public creek inside a public park that is being stocked privately. Does that give them the right to make up there own rules? I don't care if the President himself bought a trout and threw it in there, the creek and every fish in it are governed by the PAFBC and Lehigh County parks. The PAFBC says the creek is governed by commonwealth inalnd water regulations thus a person can legally harvest 5 trout using bait, flies, or lures. If they want to continue to pay out of their pockets to stock a PUBLIC stream in a PUBLIC park, they need to come to the conclusion that people can legally come and harvest their fish, and their harassment of anglers is illegal.
How many private clubs stock the lehigh with thier own private money? Do you think any of them yell, harass, and scrutinize anglers because one walked rightt to their stocking point and harvested 5 fish? How many other clubs stock Public Waters so they can have year round recreation but have the sense to know that they can't scrutinize anglers for harvesting their fish.
You make this place seem like the Spring Ridge Club.
And as for his pit bull, he a luvable pup, I've fed him a few slim jims in my time. I'd love to know if he has ever sicked him on anyone? It's just another one of those scare tactices, lot of bark and no bite. Mr. Allen ain't that stupid.
And I know Lee don't care, why do you think I'm trying to make a Difference.

I've notices a few strange things with the order of posts myself, but always in one of the "global" forums.dcarble,
I didn't say my post was removed, just moved from its original order in this thread. My second long post was like 4th or 5th in line but when I rechecked this thread, it was on the second page. That' all, all is well, just looks out of sync and weird.

After I answered a post by "streamcaddis", it appeared that I answered before he asked.
