Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

I'm going to Alberta, Canada - Calgary next week for a few days. Most likely I'll be staying somewhere in the Banff National Park.

And? Are you looking for places to fish?

I'm going to one of the islands...... Staten Island.

Banff has the most amazing fishing i have ever experienced. i played hockey for the calgary hitman and guys from the team used to take me fishing all the time cause i lived in banff. there are some secret spots to fish just as u will find here do some research and be sure to ask the locals they will help u and if u get a guide fishing will be outstanding.

I'm back! I hope I won't disappoint you when I say I did no fishing there.
"A picture is worth a thousand words" - so I'll keep my comments short and enjoy the pics.

This was the only time I got to fish for about 15min.

I realized nymphing wasn't the right choice when a fish attacked my indicator. Stimulator size 6 produced some action. Water temps were about 40F/5C and the fish felt like an ice cube and was quickly released back to the cold.

Pete, the water was really cold and I managed to only stay in the cold for 10 sec. I hope I deserved one of your wines already... ;)

And here is the Bow River. I wish I would stay another day and get to fish here. Well at least I have a good reason to go back there now...

This was my very first stop once we got to Calgary (Day 1). Got some flies and license here but end up never using the flies :(.

Wow! That's some spectacular scenery there! Reminds me of the Dolomite's in Italy.

The bluish tint water looks to be glacier melt. No wonder you froze your ass off. Usually those rivers don't fish that well. We'll have to get together and talk in detail about this. I may have to take a trip out there myself. I'll give you a bottle of wine next time we meet.

Yep, all the waters there are from glacier melt. The real action on Bow River starts below Calgary and the entire river is considered blue ribbon fishery.

I also found a camera in Yoho Park, British Columbia on Friday August 13th. Below is a picture of the owner of the camera. How many time do we say "small world" so I'll give it a shot and posted it here. I already posted about the lost camera everywhere I could think of in the area it was found but no success yet. If you know her or know anyone who lost their camera in Banff National Park area please contact me with some details about the camera and the pictures on it.
The amazing photos are probably worth more than the camera itself.
