Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

What kind of cat is this.

Fishizzle, I never use worms!
A good friend of mine just returned from vacation in California. She notice a very large cat outside her motel room and managed to take this photograph. The area she was visiting is notable for having both Bobcat and Mountain Lion. What kind of cat do you think this guy is? Obviously if you compare its size next to the park bench, its a big SOB and not a house cat.

Clarification: it is a Bobcat which is a "Lynx Rufus", what you are calling a Lynx is a "Lynx Canadensis", the later not being found in California, Bobcats. Lynx Rufus are quite common in CA, Lynx canadensis, are about as common as a Giraffe or Whooping Crane in Ca.

I seen many bobcats around my place and the short tail, ears and size indicate its a Bobcat. Looks to be about 20-25lbs.

Bobcat for sure-

Canadian Lynx-definitely not.

You know... you look like a guy that knows his wild cats. I think I'll have to agree with you thats its a Bobcat or at least a cat in the Lynx family.

Thank you all for your responses. :)
