I think I get the concept involved here.

The bead fisherman selects the color of his beads, based on the color of the fish eggs in the river.

So here, you see Simms squeezing out eggs from a rainbow trout.

Can you see the orange eggs coming out of the fish?

Sure you can.

My guess is, after the life was squished out of this unfortunate fish, Simms switched to an orange bead.
