Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Things I'd rather not read about

I read a LOT of books about fly fishing. Not the hands-on "learn how" books, but literature books telling stories. Gierach, Nick Lyons, McGuane, etc.

Why is it that every fly fishing author these days seemingly must write about how they lost their virginity? It's actually not just limited to fly fishing books, but I'll limit the conversation to that since this is a FF site.

Or, if they don't write about that, why is it they must then write about where they were on Sept. 11, 2001? I can think of two FF books I read in the last month that talk about this.

I just find it annoying.

I have no problem with Authors writing about the first time they caught a trout on a dry fly.

That's what you meant right?

I still remember my first nymph, man talk about lost innocence. Big, dark, sharp with long rubber legs (She was a real Bitch Creek) lost her to a snag on Ledgewood Brook.

CR,

Your avitar is in the September/October issue of Eastern Fly Fishing, page 37. I'm guessing CR is stands for Chris Roslan. You wrote a good article. Makes me want to go to Lake Minipi.

You're free to boast here a bit and I'm sure DC would like for you to post the article.

Thanks,
Cdog
