We could really use a few more votes here. There are a few pictures that have 5 votes each. Even if you hate pictures, please help us out by clicking on the above link and choosing any picture just for the fuck of it.

Well I'll be. What the hell - it's been a weird week. Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize and I win a photo contest. Truth really is stranger than fiction sometimes. But I am glad that people found that photo pleasing to the eye.

I'm also glad you ran the contest, Dennis, since it brought out the really fine photographers lurking around this site. Sstasiak seems to be easing into that new digital slr nicely, as I found his DePuy Spring Creek photo to be the prettiest shot of that creek I'd seen. The runner-up photo is another favorite, but the rest of them were outstanding as well.

I demand a re-count...I am sure the lake at Red Rock was the winner. I had the local ACORN chapter stuffing ballot boxes. They even registered AK Skim to vote.....50 times. There is no justice

BTW: Congrats Jess..I should have voted for you but I have some good memories of fishing that lake at Red Rock with my brother oh so long ago

That's what it's all about. We can't put every piece of art we find appealing up on the wall. So we save our money and wait for the ones that speak to us. Now if only I could do that with fly rods. :fart:

I was torn between your photo and Steve's spring creek one.

If you really look at the winning photo.. to me the leaves on the one side of the river (in colour) look a little fake.

But what do I know.

I couldn't tell a Currier and Ives from ... photoshop.
