Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

scierra fly rod

i was also thinking about this rod. They only have them in 9ft. If they had shorter rods like an8ft i would def get one.

For $50, that is going to be hard to beat. I mean, you don't expect the best, but it can't be THAT bad...

hi there.
i have a scierra hm3 5wt. it's a beautiful rod.
that said though, it recently broke and i have been absolutely unable to get in touch with them.
they simply won't even respond.
i've come across several others who have had bad dealings with them also.
i'd say there's probably a reason that all their rods seem to be on sale everywhere.
by all means, grab one if you don't mind throwing it away if something goes wrong with it. they are great rods. just a terrible company. for that reason alone, i'd recommend that our hard-earned dollars go to one of the many honorable companies that are out there.
i know that my money will now be spent with orvis. they easily have the best warranty and service around.
if anyone out there knows of someone who can help me with my scierra rod, i'd really appreciate it.
thanks.

People living in the Seattle area have the best deal for rod service: Take your broken Sage on a boat ride to Bainbridge Island, drop it off at Sage. Next week, take another boat ride and pick it up.

I'll tell you what, it doesn't take much longer getting a rod back from them via USPS either!

This story is yet another example of warranty being important. If you got the scierra for $50, then it's a good deal and soud not expect a warranty. Orvis, Sage, Beulah, TFO....warranties matter(to me), all have good feedback.

I had one of their reels. It was a nice enough reel, except it had a defect that the spool wouldn't lock on. I tried contacting them directly and had the same experience-nothing. Luckily the retailer where i bought it let me return the reel.
