RRTU - Ron Frost Fly Rod Presentation

AKSkim

Boston - Title Town USA
October RRTU was very fortunate to have one of New Jersey & Catskills première bamboo fly rod maker
donate his time to come in and give us a well presented and organized presentation on bamboo rods from A to Z.

Ron brought in some of his tools of the trade.

DSCN9910-1.jpg

Burl materials that he makes his handles from.

DSCN9909-1.jpg

One thing was for certain was his in-depth knowledge of bamboo rod building.

DSCN9917-1.jpg

Ron brought along some of “his” rods that he made and fishes with.

DSCN9902-1.jpg

.. Ummm .. somebody else did too..

The inlay of the burl and bamboo no photo of it I have taken to date does it justice.

AK Best, well known fly tier and author with Ron at the 2010 Somerset Fly Fishing Show.
Mr. Best spotted that rod being removed from its sock as I was about to show Rusty Spinner it,
AK came out of no where and actually snatched the rod right out of my hand to look at it.
The rod construction and look is actually that impressive.
If you are in the market for a well constructed bamoboo fly rod at a very reasonable price,
please contact Ron Frost (aka RONBO on this board).
Thanks.

thanks for the post ak great pictures

Photos are nothing compared to his presentation.

The RRTU members that were there got a chance to listen and ask alot of very good questions of Ron
on rod building.

Easy to say the interest was very high.

Have to thank Ron again, his power point presentation was outstanding and he put a lot of thought,
time, and effort into it. It showed.

My birthdays in january not april Ak.
