Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

real cdc

greg s

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
I always get my cdc from the ducks that I shoot. It is way better than that store bought stuff. Not too many colors, but I don't think it matters. This stuff is very hard to sink, you almost need to get slime on it to not be able to get the water out by just casting. The left is from a hen mallard, the center from a drake greenwing teal, and the right is a mix of black duck and drake mallard, they are about the same hue. The teal feathers are small as is the teal, but they work fine.

What, do you guys put like one wrap on the hook per night and then take a rest? For Dame Berners' sake, where are the flies?

Relax, it's a long winter. I think there is some great stuff coming here. Will make all of those youtube twisters look like babes in the woods.

no problem, I always share my ducks and their feathers. Tell me where you want it sent.

OK, here's the first one. A klinkhammer sulphur emerger. Lightenup, let's see what you're doingKIMG0538.JPGKIMG0545.JPG

Haven't been tying too much but this site your cdc. The fly on the top is tiny and a proven producer in the SBR here in Jersey...20231228_154335.jpg20231228_131905.jpg
Wish I had a better camera.

Need to hear more about that midge since I fish the SBR myself on weekday evenings. It is the closest place worth fishing from Moorestown.

Well, I'm going to give my vote to Greg for his klink. Nicer done than what LU submitted.
However, I am going to credit LU with the midge because quite frankly, I didn't think he was capable of tying anything that small. 👌

Well, I gotta pee everyday...

I agree. This one has all natural material and I used pheasant tail for the shuck. the camera on my phone is pathetic.

Nice work Lightenup. I am also impressed by how well your spools are organized.

Question for the pro tyers. It was my understanding that the CDC is what did the floating. Why hackle the fly if you are using CDC?
