Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

One Day (Sat) to Fish - where to go? KLG or Big Flat?

My only day to fish for a while will be tomorrow, Saturday. Your thoughts on whether to head to KLG or Big Flatbrook would be greatly appreciated. If you suggest the Musky, then, I also need advice on where to go having never been.

Also, advice on what to use.

Many thanks!!

I would hit the KLG. They have a little rangers house now when you go in and you can get hand jobs, hot dogs, and a lesson on how to wipe your ass, too.

With the hot weather i would choose the colder BFB but get there after dawn for a couple of hours of fishing. Also, bring your thermometer and keep an eye on the water temp.

THANKS! I was leaning that way only because I figured it would be less crowded than KLG.

I am not known for the best catch and release techniques, but even I know you don't toch the fish's gills.

Assuming you actually live in West Nyack, why would you drive an 1hr and 20mins to fish in New Jersey when you can drive 15 more minutes and be in the catskills? Have you been attending Rusty Spinner's Catskill fisherman deprogramming camp where he convinces everyone to fish in NJ....

I love the Catskills, but, the only place I'm familiar with is the East Branch which is more than 2 hours away... if you have some advice, please do PM me. I would love to know where to go within that 2 hour radius.

How about the Neversink?

There's a nice one even closer... but it's someone's "special" place...
Where's Cdog been?
Cdog sent me an email a few weeks back letting me know he was offended because I attacked Zeus or was it Thor.. no, maybe Mohamed... no no no.. it was Joseph Smith, I'm sure of it. No... nope.. was it L. Ron Hubbard... anyway, so to keep the peace, I moved the thread to the opt in section but haven't heard from him since.

It never ceases to amaze me how such an omnipotent being needs an army of people who are so easily offended to defend him.

His last post was:

"I'm through with you. You're nothing but a waste of my time.

Cdog "

So, I'm glad to hear he left the site because of YOU and your crazy beliefs and NOT who he was referring to in THAT post....

I can't believe people get offended so easily and can't have a big boy debate about personal beliefs.....

We are all almost adults here...right?

What I really enjoy is when someone like Macfly or WBD, FF come on and make fun of the whole situation. These three know how to lighten the mood and make people enjoy life.

you've never been a member of a guitar player's forum i take it, some of those guys are more Skittish than Stockies.

I thought this was about traveling from the Catskills to fish the hollowed waters of NJ. I suggest if you are going to travel that far. You might as well go all in and hit the Rahway in Linden. It is clean, tranquil and fishes extremely well. And DC you better stop those heinous attacks on Zeus and Thor. You may get struck by lightning or clubbed in the head with a big hammer.

Simms should know he frequents the place quite often

The dry fly action in New Jersey has been crazy the last couple of weeks - and I have been avoiding any TCAs as much as possible. This year at many of my favorite spots I almost always see PA plates which says something about NJ's season. Plenty of peace and quiet with tons of rising fish if you explore a little. If you want to have a social outing and fish around people then the KLG and Pequest TCAS are right for you. But if you want a hole to yourself filled with rising browns that is easy to find. Laugh if you want, but the late spring hatches have been good in NJ from the SBR to the Flat Brook.
