NEFF been a little slow? Site statistics

For those of you not on NEFF, the word "dork" was used several times by a known troll on that site that went by "Golden Beetle". Some are here asking themselves who Golden Beetle is and now you know. This particular troll is good with computers and enjoys being multiple trolls

. He is on both sites, and still has other names that he goes by. He's been having fun here lately because the other site (NEFF) has been very slow for several months...

I know I sent you some numbers before you posted that. I'd like to clarify a few things... First, any website has lulls every now and then, that doesn't exclude this site.

Those numbers don't include comments made to the photo sections, review sections, or chatbox above the forum.

Also, to assist with removing any suspiciouns you or anyone may or may not have as to who Golden Beetle is, I can assure you that I'm not GB. I can also say that I've never posted on GST as either myself or ANY alias. Then again, I suppose having the "Organized religion is a sham" thing as my signature immediately makes me the prime candidate for posting as some religious nut on other sites.

PS... The smiley face was a nice touch... Keeps it diplomatic.

Obviously, I've struck a nerve in an attempt on the other site to rid it of a troll that was posting as at least 2 names there and as Golden Beetle here. We were successful in flushing out our troll, end of story. I have to chuckle a bit in that you are now the third person to claim you are not Golden Beetle, something I have never accused you or the other two who contacted me of being. I never minded GB, he was harmless, in fact I laughed every time he called me a dork. The other names he was posting under on GST were becoming disruptive more than when he posted here as GB.

I stand by what I said on GST, this site has been slow for quite awhile now. Perhaps numbers don't lie and it is just my imagination, but others who post on both sites have mentioned it numerous times of late, so I know that I am not alone in my thinking. A more accurate representation of a site's activities is not in the # of new threads, but the numbers of posts/day or per week I would think. If those numbers are up, then clearly I am wrong.

All that said, I remain a big fan of NEFF as I have said over and over both in public and in private. I enjoy the characters on both sites, the dialogue and the exchange of info. There are times on both sites that things happen to piss me off. Lately, more of them has happened here, but in time that is very much likely to change around. That's the internet for you. My desire is that I would like to see both sites remain strong and relatively troll free. And yes, I am a bit of a diplomat, I have to be.

I read some of the thread over there... You have some people defending the trolls right to post his religious views... I'm not sure everyone got the whole "he's a troll" memo.

Maybe it only seems slow here to people who have only been around for a year or two. I think that since uncrowded met his agenda of throwing around propaganda about gas drilling to influence how people in another state live their lives, the post count might be down. Maybe once drilling begins in the Catskills, he'll be back and we will get the count right back up there.

For NOW, enjoy the fact that the posts here NOW are focused on Fishing...

Trolls will be trolls. As long as there are free proxy servers out there, you can't get rid of them. You ban one IP address and they come back with another, you ban a user and they come back as someone else and that's how it is. Take it from someone who actually has some experience with this (That is, running a site and dealing with trolls, not trolling).

I'll also mention that you were not successfull in flushing out your troll... If you read the thread, the troll was sitting back having a good laugh at the fact that his thread brought in more posts/views than just about any other thread. If you ask me, the troll won and went out on top. Even after you "flushed him out", people were still yapping about him! The posts I really enjoyed are those who would chime in to not feed the troll, not even realizing they are feeding the troll. Some even did it more than once! 166 REPLIES and 1725 REVIEWS! The troll won as soon as the first person took the time to post about him being a troll. Now you really know when the troll won when you start making T-Shirts about him and others are willing to wear them publicly!

You don't have to accuse me. You make it obvious who you think your troll is. At first I figured that you thought it was AK but reading what I quoted you on above,... well, My complex kicked in. Let's say I said something like, "Yeah, this TU guy who does dam removal work on the Musky"... well, obviously that doesn't leave too much room for anyone else, right? It could be someone else but let's face it, we both know who I'd be talking about. One thing with you is that you never just come out and say what you mean or say what you want to say, you like to pussy foot around things... You always leave room for yourself to say something like, "I never said that" or "I never mentioned a name", or, "What I really meant to say was,....", etc...

Numbers don't lie, so why are you trying to argue an opinion over fact? I sent you the actual post count the other day. "Posts" are down, "Threads" are up. What this tells us is that more people are interested in starting new threads rather than posting to old ones and as I pointed out earlier, this doesn't include comments made to photo's, reviews, or the chat box. And yes, for comparing GST to NEFF, those numbers count, GST doesn't have the review, photo, or chatbox therefore when someone wants to post a new picture or write a review, they have to post it and comment to it within the forum.

Perhaps the numbers that are down are the number of GST people posting to NEFF. Those numbers are down big time. I'll also say that the people who have noticed that the numbers are down all just happen to be GST users.
