Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Musky 10-28

leadhead

sleeps with the fishes
Nice day at the TCA. A good brown and two heavy bows. Black buggers and BHGRHE fooled them. Find the faster water. The leaves are a killer in the slow water, making a smooth drift almost impossible. Quite a few others fishing there also. Nice weather will do that. Will have to explore more when I get time.

Sweet! The river took a beating this summer, so all I normally hear right now are complaints about few fish. Same thing on most of our Eastern rivers from what friends and colleagues are telling me. It's going to take a year or two to rebound from this past summer's heat and low flows. If temps didn't kill, low flows allowed predators to do that job....rivers like the Ramapo and Paulinskill took a near 100% hit.

I've only fished there a few times at "off" times of the year so I have never expected to catch alot. But the few that I have were all good fish. It's a nice river, but I don't get to fish it as much as I would like and don't know the "spots" yet.

It's 42 miles long and there are plenty of public access spots the entire length. Get out and explore, the TCAs get so much obvious attention but my favorite water is WAY downstream on the Musky.
