How Much Snow Fall?

Down here in Mount Laurel South Jersey we have 8 inches on the ground and the snow and winds has just picked up. Visability down to nothing at times and the wind when it comes sounds like a freight train. I guess the 20+ inches they say will hit my part of Burlington County is coming true. Now I did shovel some this afternoon and it looks like I never did a thing. Here are a few pictures of my backyard here in Rancocas Woods section of Mount Laurel.

Only an inch, maybe less so far on the other end of the state. But it only began around 2 pm. Hard to imagine we'll get the 2+ feet they predicted yesterday. Maybe less than a foot would be my guess right now. Guess we'll know in the morning...

Drove home from Atlantic City this morning in a near blizzard. Started to lighten up around plumsted, NJ. By the time we got to Allentown, NJ it had yet to really snow. South Jersey is getting hammered. Here in Bucks its snowing good now but probably will only amount to about 6-8 inches.

Barely any in the city. They are forecasting a hit overnight, though.

It started slow here in Central Jersey.
Snowed a little around 9,oo am this morning then stopped.
Started again at 4,oo and is coming down hard now we got about three inches on the ground and are supposed to get twelve:)

In pompton lakes we got like 3-4 inches and still coming down steady.

10 o'clock pm in forked river nj we have probably 15-16 on the ground and it keeps on dumping. The winds are fierce right now and it has been snowing about 2 inches an hour, at130 this morning it was already starting to flurry a bit. Guess the stormed slowed down and didn't make it to you north jersey guys. I'm just glad it never changed to rain usually it always does down here.

Update, It's 10:55 PM Here in Rancocas Woods section of Mount Laurel. I have measured again and we are currently at 16 inches and still snowing very heavy. The real heavy snows are suppose to be over in about another hour or two, then perhaps an additional two to three inches over night. I have a tremendous task of digging out ahead of me in the AM. I hope all is well and hope all are safe. This has been a real bad snow storm for the South Jersey area. Trico Mike, Take it slow tomorrow and don't push it. Slow and steady will wing the snow shovel/ Blower olmypics. Any are's around you lose power? I have herd some areas down here are with out power. Talk to all tomorrow after I shovel, take to aleve and go to bed.

It's really nasty out there, just had to go to Bayonne for a family thing and boy was I glad we took the train instead of driving. With the wind it's really a mess out there.

Went out and shoveled 6 inches about two hours ago.
Went back out now and we have another 6 on top of that.
Up to 12 inches in central jersey and it's still coming down heavy.
Good thing I bought plenty of beer to get me thru this :thumb:

Woke up this morning to 20" or more in Manahawkin. Guess I know what I'll be doing today.:crap:

Here in manahawkin we have about 2 feet and alot of drifting snow from the wind blowing. I work at SOCH hospital but there is no way I can get there. The roads are all snow covered where is the township??? Well off to tying some black stone flies for this winter fishing

My wife's not happy. She wants to know what happened to the 12 inches I promised her last night:)

Taking break to warm a bit and dry some clothes. Been shoveling sing 9:00 AM and not even close to being done. Here are a few picks of what it look like when we had to take our puppy out this morning:

Averaged 11" in Union county.................................I was plowing snow for about 13 hours.....

Well after shoveling 23 inches of snow from the driveways, walkways and then making paths for the dog to run around in has me feeling like I was beat up by a young Mike Tyson. The Mrs. and I have omitted defeat and decided to buy a good two stage snow blower. I do not care if it takes until the end of winter but this shoveling thing specially in snow falls like this has got to stop. I enjoy the snow and would like to have more time enjoying it instead of working in it and making me hate it instead. Knowing my luck I get my snow blower and will not use it for three years. Such is life, sighe.

We got about 6 inches here in Easton, which is right on par with what they expected for here. I did have the adventure of driving to and from Newark Airport, to pickup my brother and sister in law coming back from a Mexican beach vacation, between 3PM and 9PM on Saturday afternoon. The ride in wasn't too bad but coming home was a little tense, several cars went to fast and ditched off to either side of my 4WD truck on the way home. Also had tractor trailer barrel past me and then drift over and catch the snow bank and start jack-knifing in front of me. I still don't know how he recovered that thing. Had to be checking his pants at the next truck stop. It's always other drivers I worry about in the snow, not really myself!

My labrador and I always enjoyed taking hikes in the woods after a good snow, especially up in the DWGNRA. This hunting season is tough without him around.
