Hiring a Chinese nanny

This is not a joke thread.

My wife and I are expecting our first child in July.

We plan on hiring a Chinese nanny, who speaks only Chinese.

The idea is to teach the child Chinese, from birth.

What do you guys think?

China is now the second superpower. Keep that in mind!

Kyle, we are totally serious about this.

Our child will be speaking Mandarin and English, hopefully, by age 3.

i see the though.... kieth urbans daught who is all most 2 speaks english and spanish... chinese? dont know it thats the language is needed

Well, the hope is that she knows enough English to communicate with us.

But she would speak only Chinese to the baby.

Ah yes the classic overthinking when having your first child. That liilte kid is going to have all he can handle dealing with you as a parent, he most certainly doesn't need some annoying chink yapping at him all day.

You may want to consider multiple dialects to be certain he will be most accepted within chinese culture. also I would take it a step further and look at other aspects beyond language to ensure your son/daughter will be competitive. Consider reading the book "Tiger Mom" for more information on how to raise your son/daughter.

Gb i was thinking if you hire the chinese nanny. They tend to mix up "l" and "r"
