GE to invest billions in fracking

You are getting soft on us here. They are going to invest billions to develop machinery etc that is used for fracking and make billions off of the investment. It's just a business decision and most likely has nothing to do with making if "safer."

I bet there are thousands of people that are happy(and alive) because someone decided to invest millions (and made millions) in research and development of airbag technology to improve car safety.

yes a Germany in WWII invested in the V2 rocket. I bet there were thousands of people that were not happy (or alive) because someone decided to invest in research and development or rockets.

That was to improve safety? And to make money?

I'll give you a "do over"...

If fracking were proven to be as safe as crude oil surface well drilling, would you support it? I know I would. I just feel that the jury remains out on this. I welcome GE's investments. They helped make air travel safe which so many of us now take for granted. I'm for any cheap, domestic energy that we can extract with minimal impacts. If fracking becomes one of those energy sources, it will benefit us all. Some, like FF, are already convinced it is. Many of us are not, but keeping an open mind. Yet others will never be convinced about any energy sources anywhere in the world including solar and wind. IMO, they get quickly dismissed as living in a fantasy world. We need energy and there just are not enough caves for us to crawl back in. Besides, wouldn't having all humans heating their caves with wood also cause issues to the environment? :crap::):)

The same GE who spent millions to re-brand themselves as a "green" company while fighting tooth and nail (and spending far more in legal fees etc) to avoid cleaning up their mess in the Hudson? I'd like to be optimistic about this but....

Thank you. You are one of the few to acknowledge this. I am a deep well of wisdom, drink from me:beer1:

Well this is awkward... when I said INvaluable I thought "in" meant "not" as in "inaction" or "innocent" or "incredible"... Jeez, the English language is HARD.

But "drink from me"? What a Creeper... do you drive a van?

FF, that van had better not be parked out in front of your farm. If it is, no need to send any "alpaca" fur because I don't want to go down with you when the DNA matches some missing child:crap:

:):):)

GE is an evil organization. Any company that is in bed with this administration can't be trusted.

Just do a search on Jeffrey Immelt.

Then look at all the taxes GE are skating out of by keeping money overseas.

what a poor analogy. :crap: missed the boat on that one.

GE brings good things to life you boobs

Like pushing for a ban on incandescent light bulbs so people have to buy their toxic "high efficiency" light bulbs?

Or the push for carbon taxes....ehhh hmmm....I mean green energy and cap and trade since they stand to make more money that will be kept overseas and exempt from taxes.

Carbon taxes will save the planet. Stop burning wood

Haha. Surrrrrrrrrrre. If you say so. It just redistribute wealth.

Volcanoes create enormous amounts of pollution. We should make volcanoes illegal or restrict the amount of pollutants they can send into the air each year.

Yes, and tax them until they can no longer afford to erupt, then subsidize them until they erupt again.......
