Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
I got out for an hour today. The first time I have been fishing since June. Caught a couple of hold over’s. Nothing spectacular. It was good just to get out and the weather was nice.
I guided today and fishing wasn't fast and furious, but we caught fish as the warmth of the day hit mid day. Water temp on the SBR was 43 around 11 am.
I was in the gorge for an hour or two today..managed to land three and miss three all on a size 22 midge pupae fished deep....
one brown was wild and jumped a couple of times...it was a nice afternoon..

I hit the BR around 3:30. A lot of stone flies laying eggs but they did not want them. I had play with split shot and nymph size to get the right combination. Once I figured it out the fish were on it. I had my own personal photographer. My wife took 25 pictures.
This was from last weekend on the holston. I caught a bunch of dinker browns (all wild) and a nice fat rainbow. They're stocked as fingerlings (I think just to feed the monster browns in there) and this was by far the biggest one I have caught there. I would say a good 18" if not more, but you can't tell from the pic since the tail is sitting in the water.
I caught much more fish than I anticipated swinging a small olive Spey with my trout Spey.
