Keep at it man, it takes a little perseverence determination. I fished 3-5 times a week for at least a month before I caught my first fish on a flyrod. It's those with lesser character that give up after a day or two and resort back to spinning rods. Good luck.

you know whats tough is trying to learn this sport by your self its not allways bad thing just wish there was an "old guy" lol that could show me what im doing wrong and to just compare notes on but im only 25 gotta lotta years to go

troutfever, if it is any consolation to you I think I caught my first trout on the fly after my third or fourth trip to the BFB, I swear I willed that fish to my hook. I saw a fish rise and must have casted 75 times to it until I caught him, it was a 14" rainbow. Unfortunately I have been fly fishing for many years now and that still has been my only fish, just kidding..... But, what is unfortunate is that I have been fly fishing for many years and seam to still be stuck on fly fishing 101.

yea i hear you its not about the amount of fish you catch its the story that gets you there... last year was my first year seriously fly fishing i think all season i caught maybe 5 trout but 2 beautiful 19 inchs native browns.... i mean i could probably go to a stocked stream and do alot better but i figure if i figure out this particular river i will get a more out of it than catching stockies.... this river i think there are only 5 or 6 people that actually fish it so its really a beautiful place wether your catching or not

Troutfever I caught my first trout very close to Glen Spey about 40 years ago.
(I used to live in Cochecton at the Blueberry Farm and a lot of my custmers were from GS...mostly Ukrainians)keep at he ff ,you will never regret it!!!!
I'm heading up Rt 97 tommorow on my way to Hancock to fish for a few days..sort of like a trip down memory lane.

good luck
Tom

Head to the nearest TU Chapter meeting - plenty of anglers (including some semi-old ones like myself) that would be glad to show you the ropes!

are you fishing the M@*&!*p? That thing is ok when they dont blow water and when the Delaware gets high the trout run up it to get out of the high water. If it is, try another place, you have to learn how to walk before you run.
