J.D. Wagner bamboo...7' 3wt. It has a nice subtle touch on the smaller stream I frequent in the summer months...smooth as silk and a nice soft tip for the hook set on 7x tippet...It is great for the N.J. wild trout streams that don't see fish bigger than 15"(and that would be a huge one) usually I get 'em 7'-10"...
Best all around rod..
The Winston classic trout 8' 5" 5 wt 3pc.....what a fantastic fishing rod...built by none other than Matt Grobert.......

holy shit!!! that 7'9 far and fine was my favorite rod of all time..i still have mine and would never part with it.the unsanded blank was very cool too..those full flex softer action rods were amazingly smooth almost like cane..it wasnt till i sarted fishing the bigger tailwaters of the upper d that that rod held me back..but i still caight more fish on that rod than any other and on smaller streams i still love to use it!How about the orvis 7'9 5wt far and fine. The old ones with the unsanded blanks. They are one of the smoothest rods. I also have a orvis otter 7ft 5 wt.It is a great limestoner fly rod that has no problem tossing big hoppers 60 ft on the letort, but can also lay a midge down at 20 ft nice and gentle.I am very partial to the old orvis unsanded blanks, but they are not big water rods.I also have a 7'9 orvis tippet 3wt and when I put a 4wt line on it the things a cannon.
