Good Evening Ladies and Conservatives,
This afternoon I headed off to a stream in North Central Mass...Weather was cloudy, 58 degrees, and a light light sprinkle, so I headed off expecting and HOPING to be the only one on the water...
Got to the impoundment to be greeted by 3 canvas backs with ugly sticks...This section is home to BEAUTIFUL water, but also gets visited by these barbarians, unfortunately. Luckily, 200 yards down stream starts the (1) of (2) C&R Areas on this river
So I rigged up and proceeded to drench myself in deet 100%...The bugs today were horrendous for some reason. I headed down to the river and threw a hello to the fellow lip ripper accross the river to receive the UGLY, HEARTWRENCHING, sentence we fellow flyfishermen HATE to hear... "Got 2 on the stringer! Dare be plenti mur in these waterz"
So, I kindly said thank you for keeping them and beggan swinging. Right away, I hooked up with a beautiful rainbow but lost it in a log jam. DOH! A few casts later I hooked into another real nice fish and finally got her to hand.
I position myself down a bit father and WHAM! I knew it was not a big fish, but didn't realize this little guy was on the other end...Take note as to the color of this normally SILVER, fresh water tarpon..This water is DARKKKKKKK!
Since I had to ration my time, I bypassed several GORGEOUS pools/runs as I made my way to one of my favorite spots jsut downstream...Picked up a nice bow, then I was off to the C&R section!
Made my way DEEP into the C&R area and was greeted by 2 other flyfishermen...Joe and a no-namer...Great guys, novices...Great to see new, passionate, people enter our sport! They headed downstream and I headed up...
Alllll fish were taken on streamers "On the swing!" Nothing like a ferocious hit on the swing!!! More addicting than crack if ya ask me. ...As I was leaving, the surface came ALIVE!!! However, I needed to prepare dinner before the significant other returned home from work...I will be back this week sometime...
And I had to snap this pic as well...I dedicate this picture to trout fever. Judging by his posts toward General Beetle, he may just wave this flag...
TIGHT LINES!!!!!!
