Working on swap 2 flies while ice fishing on Brant Lake. DEDICATION~ PRICELESS

The recipe for my simple caddis larva

Body:Medium Olive antron yarn
Head:peacock Ice Dub

I usually put a "caddis green" nymph head on it and weight the shank but I tied a lighter smaller version for the winter fishing (I also didn't have enough beads and the weight was left down at school). During the rest of the year (and winter I imagine too) a size 12 curved hook, caddis green tungsten head, weighted is my top producing nymph. I think its a combo of the sparkly ice dub and the slim body. The caddis green head also seems to work better than a standard black tungsten head too. Anyway this will produce on any stream with caddis (i.e. any stream anywhere).

Tied in this manner its a 1 or 2 minute fly and extremely simple and very productive. Be sure to leave the head a big rugged simulating legs and allowing the ice dub to flash better.

Tight lines and tapered bodies folks.

JUst finished tying all of my pheasant tails for round two. I am very surprised that they came out good.

Hi,

So how about an update. Who are we still waiting impatiently for in the first group??

I am looking forward to the flies!!!

Maybe AndyB for tomorrows' mail? That would be great, could photo & prep. the group to go out Monday Morning ~DH

WOW Those Look great Double Haul. idk they look to nice to be fished. lol.

I usually save this one for the big brown that has been heavily fished over & shown me a couple of refusals. Give it about 10 minutes to rest the attitude and then drop the bomb right in his lair. I especially like to dap this one over the edge of a bridge while someone is watching, however, I never show them the fly. Keep it in your box until the time is right.

Hi DoubleHaul:

Both Swap flies are being placed in Monday Mornings mail with a one to two day delivery. Sorry for the delay guys but I wanted to make sure I got both swaps completed and that no one get shorted a fly. Thanks for your patience. DH I sent you a PM last evening as well. I have enclosed an extra fly for you. Thank you very must for hosting and can't wait to see every ones work. The flies I have tied are fishing flies and NOT show flies. I wanted people to fish with them.

Sincerely
Andy Brasko

Hi DH:

Flies are in the mail and are scheduled to arrive at your house by 3:00 PM tomorrow. Please let me know when you receive them.

Thanks
Andy B

Oh, if I had known of this I would not have joined the swap.

The only reason I joined was to get one of your "show" wet flies.

I figure if I join a dozen swaps where you are in it, at the end I'll have enough for a shadow box of your wet flies.

I figure in the future a dozen of your flies would be worth $4-5k.

OK, he probably deserved that, ONCE. I'll check the mail today & all will get photos & mailed within 12 hrs.

DH~

AK:

PM me and I am quite sure we can get a few show quality flies out to you to for a shadow box. Maybe a 1/2 dozen or more. :)

Swap One is Complete and being photoed.

Andy B did not disappoint! Those wet flies are superior.

I'll post pix when I return from a scout meeting scheduled for tonight.

~DH

Awesome pictures, how do you set those up? I can't wait to get in on the next swap. I'm starting to produce things that look like flies. :)

Very nice work. DH thanks for making it all happen. I would like to see names next to the flies and I'm in for the next swap.
Great work guys!
