11.11.2011 - Site outage

I hate when my favorite sites are down. I click and click and click and get some lame ass error message telling me something like, "we're working on the issue."

Anyway... I had a DB table that was well over a gig. This was causing a major issue. Also, there was a security breech in the version of the software we were using. I figured I'd update the software to the latest version and everything would go back to normal but towards the end of the upgrade I ran into another issue while updating one of the tables. To add to the misery, our host set a limit on the connections to the site because the security breech was allowing too many bad visitors to query the database which was slowing not only this site down but the other sites on the server.

Hopefully all of the slow connections have been cleared up and the errors should have gone away.

If anything seems strange or not working, now is the time to let me know so I can apply the fixes. If you don't let me know of any problems I probably won't know they exist therefore won't be able to fix them for you.
