Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

It would be very helpful

If you goons would let me know when accessing certain parts of the site are not accessible. If you haven't noticed, I don't post here too often. I noticed that there had been no new posts in quite a few hours so I figured I'd write a test post and guess what. Posting new posts was broken.

This was from something that I did. I upgraded an anti-spam module last night and everything looked great.

The bottom line here is.... if you see a problem with the site, don't just assume I'm aware of the issue. I'm normally not. I don't use the site the way most of you do so when something is broken I usually don't find out until someone tells me. This one just happened to stick out a bit more.

No prob boss -- Totally agree with it also -- Although the site is owned by you there are things that happen to it -- It is all our responsibility to keep this site running smooth and glitchless.

OK... Something not working....

I noticed that we haven't had any new members in two days...
Decided to log out and test the registration function...

Clicked "log out"
Got a white screen with "502 Bad Gateway" at the top.
Went back to the "portal" from a bookmark.
I was still logged in.
Repeated the above...same results.

~~~~~~~~~~~~EDIT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess I don't need to test registration. A spambot just did it for us.
Pete,
The new members thing is related to why the posts weren't working. I upgraded our Spam client. Now I never really noticed but this new upgrade has a log. Since two days ago we've managed to thwart off something like 50 new spambot users. Today I had to disable it because it was breaking other things. :( We've already had at least 1 (that I know of)new spambot user sign up since I disabled it. I'm looking to get a fix for it because it really does work.
As for the log out error... That happens to me sometimes too. Clean cache/cookies... If that doesn't work, usually if I log out twice it works the second time. I'm sure this happens because of some modification I have going on with the site.
What happens when a VB doesn't have an adequate anti-spam client.....
This used to be a popular forum about classic software (I needed it for my Commodore).
Then the bots found it....
BTW: A moderator cleaned it up (by hand) this past week-end...
If he's running a legitimate copy of vBulletin, he should have access to all of the mods I have access to. As you can see, we don't have a major problem with bots like we used to unless of course you're deleting them all before I see them.
Frankly, I'm quite surprised that none of the "goons" did report this problem to you. Myself and others, not being goons, declined to take the liberty to let you know. Like yourself we expected the goons to take up the slack.
What's this world coming to when you have to rely on goons to keep things running? :)
