I am looking to find a 10 foot rod with an action similar to the sage sp 589-5. This SP model is my favorite trout rod to fish, but I find myself wishing it was longer. Anyone have any input as to a 10 foot rod with a similar action/feel?

Thanks for the recommendations. I agree it doesn't make sense to spend that amount of money off the bat. Could anyone mention a cheaper vice that is of good quality? Most of the lower end vices I have looked at do not get the best reviews.

I don't blame you there at all. I try to avoid the city of middletown whenever possible. The physical address for Thruway is 78 Oak St. Walden NY. It is right inside town traveling on 52 East. Wallkill river flows right behind the building.

Not to sure how inexpensive your looking, but allen fly fishing has a deal of the week running that includes one of there rods, line, and a few other accessories for $110 in the size your looking for. This doesnt help in regards to the reels but i thought it might be worth mentioning.
