trout tattoo

I've been wanting a trout tattoo for a little over a year--a brown trout in full spawning colors. I spent a lot of time googling "trout tattoo" but couldn't find a pattern that I liked. One night, after a few too many, I even tried to bing "trout tattoo," but the results were the same -- cliched, and overly realistic. I wanted something more graphic, in the style of a traditional Japanese Koi pattern.

I had a friend pen one up for me. It took him a few drafts, but I think he nailed it. Pictured below is the painting he did after the first couple drawings.

I had my first session on Monday and I'm really happy with it.

We did the lining, black, grey, and the white for the halos --

A couple sissy boys asked me about the pain.

I'm excited to get this bad-boy colored in -- but my favorite tattoo will always be my first –

I thought we were gonna see a "The Drake" tramp stamp...:)

I never did understand the whole tattoo thing. You guys call it artistic expression, but all you did was have some sweaty biker dude put it on you. Now if u designed it and put it on yourself that would be different. Otherwise it's just a " hey look at me and how cool iam" thing.

I got a tattoo on hollywood boulevard in los angeles when I was 19 years old...

I think the thing with tattoos is you're allowed to get a tat, until you get one like this...

Thank you for your valuable opinion

I like it. Personally, I'd consider grayscale, like a koi tattoo. The colors look great in the drawing but I'm not big on color tats. Black and white tattoos age better, and are better on pale white boy skin. See Beetle's photo for proof.

I've been thinking about getting a river tattooed on my forearm, to keep my wife's initials company. Not sure how to do it so it won't look like some sort of horrendous surgical mishap. Advice welcomed.

I respect your dedication, and your friend is also a talented artist, that is some first class ink, post some pics when it's colored in. Also, invest in some dumbbells or an ez-curl bar.

no one will ever top my ass tat. And thats a fact.

I'm not into tats either, but they have done a good job so far - your first tatoo i think is pretty sweet - probably one of the best I've seen

+1 for the Road House quote

I would not want to be stuck wearing the same shirt the rest of my life no matter how "in Style" it is now. So why a picture? Ill never know. Ohh by the way, for the people that like to write a small book on their body. I don't think anything you ever put on will make it interesting enough for me to sit and read your neck.

To each their own.....I enjoy the art, but not for me, unless, let's say, something awful happens to my kid, or a great friend....I may put a forever remembrance of them on my skin, but only something truly serious.....
Moose.....looks like you have a great artist there..

If you have to put something on your skin to remember your kid or Friend then you must have a really short memory, or maybe the kid was one of 11 foster kids living in your house. :)

That settles it....I'm getting a heart on my forearm that says" WBDluver" through it.....

looks sweet moose. Who is doing the work?

MacGibbon Tattoo

Your buddy is pretty damn good with the ink, I'm gonna pass this along to a couple of my inked-up buddies. I've pushed around the idea of getting one myself, but my arms and legs are in a near perpetual state of being bandaged/stitched up from yearly mountain bike crashes.
