I've been trying to give this thing away for quite some time but it's been very difficult so I'll try 1 last time. This is a $70.00 value.Here's the deal. The site header has a fly in it. I'd like to have a new fly every month. To start off december, let's have a contest. This is a chance to have your artwork displayed on the top of the page as well as win yourself a 5wt Wulff Triangle Taper fly line.

Disclaimer: The photo you submit cannot be blurry in any way. The background should have no distracting colors and should not have any of the colors represented in the fly. If you need me to take the picture of your fly, that won't be a problem. Send me a PM and I'll get you my address.

I'll post a poll once all flies have been submitted. The poll will be used for voting on your favorite fly.Good luck.
 
Ummm I fell for this once, I won fair and square but waited and waited but no fly line. Well maybe i will try one more time. By the time he really gives this away it will be all cracked and dry rotted.

So you mean for us to tie a fly and take a photo of it? am I correct?
 
You're not talking about that story with you and your mistress and the hook through the lip, are you? I fell asleep reading it again. Gee wiz, the punch line wasn't even yours, it was the chick from Malinda's. Look, you even said it yourself... When the two of you walked into Malinda's, the place got quiet real quick. Now I don't know what planet you're from but here on earth when something is funny, the place erupts with laughter, not silence!

So yes, take a picture of your best and upload it to this thread where it will be scrutinized by your peers.

I plan on submitting two pics. One of my fly zipped, the other with it open and my junk hanging out.

Yah know... I almost feel inclined to send you a flyline just for making me crack up here. Tell yah what I'm going to do. If nobody submits a fly by Dec 15th, the fly line is yours. That's just about 2 weeks. Keep an eye on this thread and if no replies, PM me your address and I'll get it out to you for Easter.

lol so what do you want for it just a picture of a fly for the top of the page? seems like there would be more people intersted in it...

So far only a few pics submitted. Only 2 days left. TT hasn't submitted a fly but somehow he's in the lead.

Now come on... Someone here has to want their artwork displayed on the sites header.

That might be true but he's going to submit 2. Either way, only Johnny Utah submitted pictures. Nice flies but I'm afraid the photo quality does not qualify. I need something to work with.

Let me help you with this... Pull the fly 10" away from the background, this will eliminate the shadow behind the fly. Place the fly at a slight angle and retake the picture.

If you can avoid using the flash do it. Use an overhead light instead.

Resize but don't crop the image.
 
DC, I saw trout fever's fly.

I would say that his post, of that fly, is unhelpful.

You can use my jack-a-lope.

Or perhaps I should repose a beetle bomber?

i think its because you have to crop the background and place it on the existing one be to hard to with thesoft hackle

They are good, just not good enough. It appears that your camera is in some type of "auto" mode and making the lighting adjustments on its own (and poorly). The first fly is too grainy and poor lighting. The second fly is a little soft. The third... Just can't put my finger on it but the lighting is poor.

I need something I can work with. Look at the fly in the header now. It's clean and crisp and has good colors.

Your two bottom samples are nice looking ties. If you want to send them to me for a photo shoot, I'll be glad to do so. I'm not interested in keeping your pets though. I'll donate them to the RRTU once the photoshoot is done.

Thanks for the pointers DC. and no thanks, i dont want the line. I was just being nice, since no one else was playing your game. :) Besides you cant even really see the fly in the header. I dont think it would matter what it was.
 
Well here's my entries DC,
all classics and unlike the other losers I would love that flyline.
Goes great with my boorods:)
I'm sure the pics are not up to snuff but it's the best I can do with my camera.
