Here is a little wet I tyed up for when the Golden Drakes and March Browns are on up in the Catskills. During and after the hatch has wound down swing these in the riffles and hang on !

True, im use to doing things with one hand and typing on the computer with the other

What hook/dubbing did you use for that fly?

Im a BIG fan of using earth tone colors in my flies.

Good stuff Allen, keep 'em coming!

Nice tie BC, I will use emerging wets in tail water of a fast current. To me that’s where they seem to be the most effective.

winged wet a winged wet a winged wet a winged wet, in the jungle the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight........ great song...by The Tokens.....kinda like Condaleeza Rice....Colin Powell....and.....Clarence Thomas.

Great tie and good looking fly! I have never had a lot of success fishing with winged wets and have not tied one in years, sticking with the soft-hackle wingless wets. But I do have classic wets tied by others that are suitable for framing, such as the one shown above.

Great tie Allen, I like a seal fur body wet. If you guys have trouble getting fish on winged wets try fishing them in the film, and hanging them with a twitch at the end of your drift. I like to use a winged wet as my top fly on a cast of 3. The hits on it can be explosive. Its really fun. :)

I began tying winged wets about two months ago...people said they don't work...I fished one once..I took four casts and I landed a fifteen inch rainbow...I have not tried again as of yet, but there is a reason these flies are still around, and it's not just for a shadow box....:)

Thank you Guys !!
TG the hook is a 3906 size 6 can be tied down to a size 14, I used seal fur dubbing given to me by Chris Reeves it's a nice olive yellow . He claims it was a bad dye batch but I think it's pretty sweet so when ever I get low he sends me a fist full of it.. :) As JU stated these do fish well in the film when the fish won't take a dry. Also fishing them in the heads of the pools in a riffle is a blast they are taken as drown or emerging bugs as Tom said they just attack them..
