Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

beaverkill and w branch

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
Drove up to the Hancock area on Sunday afternoon for a couple days of fishing. Sunday night the east and west branch were still a little high, so went to the beaverkill. Water was 62, a friend and I pretty much had the place to ourselves, Caught one nice brown on a sulphur wet fly just before dark. Monday and Tuesday fished the west branch below hale eddy. Got into a pretty good blue winged olive hatch around mid day Monday, it lasted about an hour until the sun came out, caught 4 browns and rainbow. After that it got tough, just one more that evening. Tuesday fished at the second pa game lands access, just one small brown. Had hooked a nice one earlier on a flying ant, but had tied a bad blood knot on my tippet, and after it pulled about half my line off the reel it popped loose. No fish pics, but I did see a nice bear poop on the path in.IMG_20180828_140907374.jpg

Sounds like a great day to me! 5 fish is nice! How were the crowds?

We saw two people on the Beaverkill Sunday night, but there was no one else that I could see in the stretches that I fished on the W Branch, except for Tuesday morning, when I saw one person on the way in.
