Trout Hunter
Fishing Report

I fished Spring Creek this weekend on Saturday in State College, PA. Arrrived at 1:30 p.m. and prepared to do my usual search nymphing to find out what the fish were on. Rod and leader were all rigged at my vehicle. Walked down to the stream and immediately observed fish rising to size 12-14 sulphurs. I was not expecting the hatch to come off until later in the evening. Water temps were 52 at 1:30 and 49 at 7:30 in the evening. I swithched flies and began to take fish on size 16 sulphur parachute and size 14 partridge and yellow soft hackle. I did not have any larger dries with me at the time after a few fish I went back to my vehicle to tie up a couple larger ones. Tied up enough to get through the rest of the hatch. Came back to the stream the fish were still on. Caught about twenty in two hour period. Fished until 8:00 in the evening. Sulphurs continued until about 4:00 in the afternoon. I picked a few more out of the pocket water with an olive scud. You guys would love this stream. Similiar to Andre's spring creek, but probably double the fish. I believe it carries the most trout per mile in the state of PA and it is all no kill. We all need to get together and make a trip out there.
