Shannon's Fly and Tackle will be holding our annual Traditional Angler Day Saturday May 8th from 10am until 5pm. It is a day dedicated to the bamboo fly rod. John Shaner of Hardy North America will be on hand to answer questions and service any old Hardy reels you may have. Dennis Menscer and his cane building buddies will be down too so there should be some fabulous rods to look over and cast. The event is free and we will be grillin' and chillin'. If you fish with a bamboo fly rod our private water is open.-JH

Last year was good this year should be even better can't wait!!
We have been asked not to blab out the names of some of the makers but I can tell you that if you are into cane then you shouldn't miss this. It's not so much a sales day as a way to appreciate the roots of our sport with some very knowledgeable and well known builders in an informal setting. I look forward to casting some of those rods and hearing the stories about them as well. Bamboo rods often have the maker's stories attached to them. If you need directions just go to The Raritan Inn at Middle Valley, Califon, NJ. It is located on CR 513 between Middle Valley and Califon.-JH
