Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Pete Romano RIP

Pete Romano was a great guy and he will be missed. I've known him for about 15 years as he used to be in my old TU chapter. He switched to Hacklebarney TU about 8 years ago to be closer to his home. He was always at my TU projects and was a great volunteer. I got to fish with Pete many times over the years and to socialize with him outside of TU and he was just a great person. He loved wine making (and drinking), bike riding, fly fishing for trout, coldwater conservation, and fine Italian cooking. Rest in peace, my friend.

This comes as a real shock to me. Pete cared very much about the Pequannock River, and we often shared information and fished there together a couple of times, showing each other our favorite spots. Pete was a real gentleman and always helpful. He passed away way too soon.

Poor guy; 54 is too young to go. I didn't know him and I don't believe I've ever met him but from what I've been reading, he was good person.

Pete was on of the rare guys on the site that never had a bad word about anyone. If there is an after life my friend may yours be on a stream with a never ending hatch. The fish are always hungry and may you be blessed with an endless amount of flies to satisfy their apatite. You will be missed

He took me out one day on the Pequannock and we fished all his honey holes. He use to stock the conservation stretch by himself.
Good Guy

Terrible news - I never fished with Pete but he had a multitude of interests outside of fly fishing. He was a wine maker and did use my brook trout avatar as the label for one of his wines. Very sad.

This is shocking and sad news. I met him a few times, he was always a good guy, not the usual bullshit artist that hangs around fly shops. I enjoyed talking bikes and riding with him, as well as fishing. He wasn't just a recreational rider, he rode alot and was in very good shape. What the heck happened?

Apparently he died from an aneurysm. His sister was sent to his condo after he didn't show up for work for 3 days as she was his emergency contact. Horrible story.

Rest easy, Pete.
