Outerbanks this Summer

A Polinger

Just finished a River Runs Through it!
I will be spending a week in the Outerbanks this summer. I am looking to start tying for the trip any ideas on what to use or is it the same as NJ?

Thanks for any tips.

Pretty much the same drill. A selection of Clousers, deceivers and half and halfs cover a lot of situations. But do add in any number of your favorite patterns for bunker (pogy at the obx). Some mullet patterns are good to have too. Slayed reds from a kayak several times on the first outgoing casting mullet patterns in the back water channels. Shrimps and crabs work good for that too. Heck, it's like anywhare you go, bring a ton of flies and you'll still wish you had something else with you. Bring a sinking line too.
