Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

It's been several years since I've posted on this site, and am impressed with the updates that have made.
I was able to get up to the WB twice last summer, and the second trip provided sulphurs that reminded me of twenty years ago.
Plan to spend the winter months tying my favorite Galloup cripple patterns, that I still find to be my most productive patterns.

Would love to see some of those cripple patters. I'm going to have to purchase more drive space to allow for larger uploads. We'll see how this takes off! Thanks for stopping by and checking the site out again!

The best source for these patterns is the book "Cripples and Spinners" by Kelly Galloup. There is also a CD that I found on Ebay where he shows how to tie these patterns. One tip that he told me at the Somerset show was to use Daiichi hooks, which are the "easiest" to bend into the right shape. That is still the most difficult part of tying these patterns.

Don't think I could make it to that Oasis. In fact, I have reached the age where I'm considering hiring a guide for a float trip down the WB
during the Hendrickson season, since the cfs flows have been too high for me to considering wading. Any suggestions who are the current guides that know the river, and won't try to correct the many flaws in my casting stroke? (Except, of course, if I am coming close to hooking the guide in the ear)

There are so many good guides out there. Joe D, Ryan Furtak, Bruce Miller, COZ, Ben Rinker; if you need more, just ask.

Does anyone still attend the Somerset Fly Fishing show, coming up in a few weeks??
Eh.... I received the brochure the other day. I haven't been to one in probably 7 years. I was thinking of checking it out on Saturday to see if anything changed and maybe catch up with some old friends, have lunch, etc...

One of the reasons I asked was because I have received no emails from FUDR, West Branch Angler, or the Delaware River Club stating that they would be there.
Last year I know Serio Real Estate was there.
I did not see Kelly Galloup listed as a presenter.

It seems that ever since the covid nonsense started, things have been quiet. As far as the FF Show; Now they are promoting, "FREE PARKING"... Big F'ng deal, it's always been free! The price to get in is still the same but inflation has tripled (Thanks JB) Gas has doubled (Thanks JB)... Everything you would have wanted to purchase 2 years ago is up 25%.

I like Jim Serio, but who's going to a fly fishing show for Real Estate? I don't know, maybe I'm wrong about this one. To me, it seems like a lot of new guys are there because the old guys are burnt out or dead.

Dave Whitlock passed away this past year I believe... What a nice guy. No more Lefty either; another nice guy.

I haven't been to anything like that since the one that used to be at the Rockland Community College field house in the late 80's, maybe early 90's. I remember seeing Lee Wulff casting in a pool there, and the people mentioned above were all there. I bought some seal fur at one of them. Pretty much everything you could think of was there. I don't know when that one fizzled out, but it was a very large event for a few years.

With All This Warm weather, does anyone care to guess the start date for Hendricksons this year?? If I remember correctly, it's all about degree days.
