Leonard Duracane Bamboo Rod

I have a friend here at work who may be looking to sell a really nice looking rod.

Here are the specs:

Model 754
2 Tips - w/Matching serial numbers
7 1/2 foot
3oz
4wt

He said he purchased it in 78, possibly 79.

Does anyone know what this rod would be worth? I want to say that it's in Mint Condition, but I'm not an expert. The ferrules pop and the rod appears to be straight. It's a really clean looking rod. The rod is very soft compared with others I've tried. I don't think you could overline this rod, but possibly underline.

Dennis, The Duracane is actually a Sharpe's of Englad blank fitted out by Leonard. That said it's a relatively nice casting tool. It doesn't however have the value of a "real" Leonard. If it has the forest green wraps it may be slightly more desirable but my guess is the wraps are red. In the condition you describe it would be in a wide range depending on market at the time. $850.00 to $1300.00 range.

Andre,

Thanks alot. My friend here appreciates your help and asked me to say thanks. This rod has Brown wrappings, and they are pretty clean.

You can try and get a decent quote from Carmine Lisella, he buys and sells rods. I don't have his number on me, it's at home.
