i fished it 2 years ago under good spring conditions.i caught a nice 9" wild brown.never saw a rise, spooked or caught any other trout.i fished slow and careful.anyone have any info about about over fishing or any other idea where the trout were?

Where exactly is it? I fish the wanaque and live in Pompton Lakes. Shoot me a PM if youd rather not say. Thanks

last i heard - or read more accurately - it was a brookie-only stream and few at that because of low pH issues and small size.

jennings creek had great holding water and great trout habitat.the ph can not be to low to have a brown trout there when brookies can tolerate a lower ph.i was surprised i did not see more trout.i wish the day i fished it i was spooking the fish and it was my fault for not catching more than one brown.i would love to know why this beatiful stream did not have more trout.

Ok thanks. I probably walked over twenty times one day while i was lost up there. Saw the car and figured we would walk a little further and we would see a spot to get back on the road. Walked about two or three miles until we hit monsville and just crossed the river. Terrible day. Thanks again.

upper 'que' is a waste of time. it comes out of greenwood lake so whatever brook trout that do live in "jennings" can pretty much only stay in "jennings"

unless of course you live down the road then FISH ON

I agree, otherwise I would have never posted it's location.
There are a couple deep holes that hold some fish year around. The "mine hole" is one. The natives who lived around there are not too friendly. They actually tried to kill me once many years ago. They were throwing large boulders at me from above. I had to wade out of there by hugging the side of the canyon so they couldn't hit me. When I got back to my parked car, the brush around it was on fire. Fortunately, There was no damage done. A ranger and forest fire truck arrived within a minute. I was relieved to see somebody at that point. I told them my story; then drove home. Don't think I've ever been back there since. The town of Ringwood did finally force those people out of there. Be careful out there!
