Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

GB mag is now available online, and it replaces the old Golden Beetle blog, which is now retired.

The goal is to create the biggest online fly fishing magazine in the world.

I will consider articles submitted for publication, if anyone is interested in writing for a highly respected, online publication such as GB magazine.

For every article you submit that is published, I pay one small coffee.

Your material is getting old.

I can write but you can't afford me. Plus your magazine isn't very good.

Oh Mac, go to bed.

When my magazine absorbs NEFF, my first move will be to lay you off.

That means, you will be fired.

If you want to improve you have to be able to accept criticism. Clearly you aren't learning from your many other failures in life. Perhaps you need to enroll in a tony Robbins course.

Why do you refer to pike as "pikes"? In the same article you do not refer to trout as "trouts". Does the Housatonic only have one species of trout and multiple species of pike?

jmoore- it's an in joke amongst the pike guys in that all the Euro/Scandi pike fishermen refer to them as pikes. We are just having a little fun with the translation. I have referred to pike as "pikes" in a few of my posts about the Passaic River pike fishery.

Thanks for the clarification. The cool kids never let me in on their lingo...

Fi-nite, A friend brought to my attention that we should say "the pikes," and not just "pikes."

I am doing youtube research to confirm.

Lots of new content, including this top notch discussion of the striped bass fishery.

If you decide to read it, I would be interested in your thoughts and comments, especially if you fish for striped bass.

Striped bass, thoughts from 2 fishermen | GB Magazine

This is top notch investigative journalism- it's the first reference online I've seen on the ASMFC report. I guess the striped bass fisherman are too busy loading up on bass before the new regs take effect.
