Delaware system shuttle service??

sstasiak

Super Pupa
Hey guys

I recently purchased a canoe from a fellow NEFF member, and am taking it up to the delaware system for its maiden voyage this weekend.

Can anyone recommend a 'cheap' shuttle service that'll drop my truck off at the takeout?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Sstasiak,
If the SR keeps running high like it is my alternate plan is to hit the Big D. Me and my buddy will spend two days fishing if my plans fall through. Let me know if you decide to go up. I will be floating the river.

I'm not sure if you'll be using an anchor for that thing but if you are, make sure you bring a sharp knife with you just in case you need to cut yourself loose. Extra anchor rope is good to have on hand as are some cotton basketball nets (fill them with rocks just in case you lose your anchor). :)

Good luck and take lots of pictures for us.

Ahhh...
This sounds like the voice of experience talking... (the voice of having had a bad experience, that is).
:)

Hey Dennis,

Speaking of pictures...

What weight rod is that you have in your hands in your avatar?

I'm in the market for a new rod, but that one looks a bit heavy.

AND the headgear... given the "friends" I've made on this site, that might be something I should look into wearing when I fish the D, too.

Let me know...

Thanks for passing on the knowledge...not having an anchor wouldn't make a fun day:holy:

Steve,
All kidding aside, do not attempt to anchor a canoe in moving water! I have watched with disastrous results! Very unstable when anchored.

Shouldn't Dennis' guests on his drift boat be wearing that helmet? Seems to me I recall a story not long ago where a certain poster left with an extra earing after her trip with DC??:D

that must be why he has the helmet on in his avatar, he was practicing casting that 50 wt. in his hands.

As you will notice that model has no ear protection. You will have to step up to a youth model that has required ear protection.

Since DC is using the chuck and duck method you would assume if the lead hits your head the hook would be in you arse anyway, no ear protection is required on this model then.
:nose-picking:
