Got out for a few hours Saturday on a class 3 wild trout water near me. Got to the river about 1:45 wadered up and hit the river right off I saw bulges and a few rise rings. I looked at a bush and instantly found a big old fat female hendrickson under a leaf. So i put on a cdc hendrickson emger and on the second drift I got my first dry fly fish of the season. hooked tow more in this pool lost both. moved down to an old bridge abutment and manged to take a beautiful brook trout of about 7" on a hendrickson dun got a couple of refusals. I decided to move to a strech of faster water I know holds some larger fish. new buddy Rob hooked a nice rianbow and got his first fly caught trout he was stoked. I put on a floating hendrickson nymph and fish down through after him about midway down the run I hooked a good fish that truned out to be a 16" rianbow that jumped 3 times and made two big runs down stream. I move down to a big bend pool and fished the inside and got a 10" brown. I then moved to a great strech of water that should have produced at least one fish but did not. I only had a few more minutes so I moved back up to the old abutment pool and noticed a few spinners in the air so I tied on a size 12 rusty spinner, after about 6 casts to the same seam I got it right and managed to hook another rainbow that instantly rocketed out of the water and tired it self out trying to run upstream it was a fatty of about 12". cool thing about all these fish they were all either stream bread or stocked as fingerlings thay all had perfect fins and thin white edges on them just a perfect day.
